, it should be to find scum and let people know when you think you've got one, which is the quintessence of my playstyle. I'm not advocating this playstyle, but it's what works for me.

This is a bit of talk about theory but I disagree with this. Perhaps it's not the main objective but all town players have a responsibility to find scum and not get lynched. Maybe that's what you meant by 'aim.'

I'm back. I still think Clumsy looks like the best lynch we could do. His posts the past few days provide more in the way of content, but, as pisskop said (bye pk ) it's been "mechanical" (or perhaps it'd be better to say it's rote). So on the whole I don't see them as alignment indicative.

Nos has been hard to read. I don't have any experience with her so I can't say whether her reported self-meta is accurate. I don't think she's a good lynch today.

About Jake/Max, most of this is repetition but it's what I'm thinking:

1) I think he's presented conflicting information in the thread and then been misleading about it. I linked to the posts I'm talking about in post 663
2) The way Jake was posting at the beginning of the game and the way he reacted to questioning about his pre-game opinion makes me think that he wouldn't back down from being questioned. The argument that he would do this as town isn't applicable, for me.
3) I get a bullying impression from his interaction with FA. I think he was panicking and responded like this to FA's questioning.
4) His discussion of reads lists (post 356, post 446, post 472) is theory-based posting rather than analysis of the game.

can't really defend point #1. He was being obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious
point #2 is a playstyle indicator, not an alignment one
point #3 - they don't like each other on a personal level, that is why they had that level of argument
point #4, he was grumpy/moany but that's not really alignment-indictive

I think there's evidence that that inactivity was legitimate, rather than scum avoiding saying anything in the thread. Voting for clumsy for inactivity is now illegitimate for me.

APF - I think a lot of your reasons for voting for clumsy can be explained by his general inactivity. What do you think?

The jake/Max slot has done provable scummy things in the thread. I've talked about the Jake thing and now Max has been posting badly as well. He hasn't given reasons for multiple votes and his responses to my points on Jake are unsubstantial. I said Jake had posted misleading information in the thread; Max called him obnoxious. I stated that I thought there was evidence that Jake would t back down from an argument as town or scum. He ignored this point. I accept his point 3, although it doesn't invalidate my point. He didn't address my point that Jake presented town-looking theory in order to look town.

We should lynch Max today.

My clumsy vote was for more than just inactivity, and I'm not feeling a switch at this point. I'll keep an eye on what he chooses to do with his time when he gets back.

I'm open to a better case though, so if you want to develop the max case more I'm all ears.

Is that the only reasoning behind the wagon on clumsy? That would seem rather odd considering they seem to be the only wagon at this point.

All 1033 says is that you didn't like the way he gave his town reads because he used a sweeping statement rather than an individual analysis of each of them. Have I got that right? And if so why is that scummy?

Can you provide actual quotes and examples of where you think I'm voting people on playstyle? A gut read after 40 pages can't really be held accountable.

Some of it was in 891. There was more but I couldn't find the exact quote I was looking for on a quick skim through, and I don't have time for a deeper look today. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow. As for my gut read, what does the number of pages have to do with it?

In terms of 1033. Town would not analyze discussion like that. I don't read a discussion between a bunch of players and think, "this is a towny discussion". The lack of individual assortment reflects a scum state of mind. As scum you'd know everyone is town and looking for individual alignments isn't what you're doing.

What parts of 891 and why?

B/c there's virtually nothing on the Kain Tepes slot, and your posts (whenever they come) have very little in them. A gut read at this point is giving us nothing. We can't analyze your slot nor hold you accountable to things you've said.
