Nope, not scripted.

P-EDIT: It did great, then it sucked, then it gave CLG a miracle teamfight win.

(although TSM kinda blundered into that one.)

True enough.

Still, I feel like TSM really misplayed that last teamfight. The initiation was poor, and they more or less just lined up for Stixxay to leapfrog from player to player.

Okay, correction. The initiation was fine, but on watching that reply I don't know why they decided to force the fight over just getting dragon and either having CLG come to them or just get out. Hauntzer's attempt to jump a near-full-health Tristana was still completely stupid, though.

In post 6394, BROseidon wrote:"ADCs are OP" and "the game systemically requires ADCs" are two different things

ADCs are designed to deal consistent damage at range. They are also designed to be relatively weaker early on with vastly expensive builds in order to make their insane late-game potential more difficult to hit. They are strong at destroying structures and can damage them at a safer distance than almost every other class.

Since they are directly multiplicative scaling with relatively high caps (2.5 Aspd + 100% Crit Chance), they have the strongest itemization in the entire game solely based on how their stats interact with each other.

AP Carries have less strong scaling, due to having no direct correlation to critical strikes in their item builds, and they have a relatively lower cap than ADCs do due to the CDR cap being only 40%. Their stats more depend on the actual abilities that they're boosting in order to show their scaling, while the ADCs scaling is (relatively) static since their basic attacks are the primary scaling on the majority of ADCs. Note that I'm completely ignoring Armor Penetration and Magic Penetration for this, as that scales differently based on what the enemy builds.

In order to simply take ADCs out of the meta entirely, you would have to drastically reduce their scaling. The problem is, the game would have to be completely redesigned beyond the season changes made every year. The primary way to do this is to make the game actually
less
team-oriented, since having sieges is inevitable when grouping up to take objectives is a key part of the game. In order to make sieges work, ADCs are able to poke at the tower from safety if they can wrestle enough control of the area, which is the most consistent way of making that strategy work.

On the other hand, ADCs are less useful in direct small skirmishes (1v1, 2v2) than most other roles throughout the game if the enemy ADC isn't also part of that skirmish, so.

If you can find a way to make the game design favor a lot of small skirmishes and splitting up throughout the map and make grouping up not optimal in the lategame, then ADCs will be less desirable. Otherwise, ADCs are never going to fall out of the meta.

BTW I just scrolled up and found the first BROseidon post on this particular topic to quote; the fact that I quoted that specific one doesn't mean anything.

When Hauntzer fucked up the Gragas ult, TSM had ample opportunity to just RESET the fight and try again in a few minutes. Why they felt so rushed there is beyond me.

What I did notice a lot of today is that Hauntzer either straight up WON the team fight or LOST the team fight. Not a big deal, any team with Stixxay at ADC has no chance to be relevant on a world stage.

But man....

thinking about CLG with Freeze.

Fuck. That's just like... REALLY FUCKING SCARY. Thank you based CLG for not signing Freeze.

I still think Hauntzer was a great pickup for TSM, though. He's been very good throughout the split and playoffs despite big blunders like that, so I do hope they endeavor to keep him.

(besides, that strict win/lose dichotomy happens a lot with Gragas and his Explosive Cask)

holy fucking c9
LCS roster: impact/meteos/jensen/sneaky/bunny
CS roster: balls/rush/hai/altec/lemon

I'm guessing that cs roster will change once they qualify since the point is to find unproven talent
Also guessing that Rush will go back to main squad once he and Impact become NA residents

also Kiwikid to NRG!

"find unproven talent"

Rush, Hai and Altec are proven talent though? (Balls needs to find his talent again, though)

Yeah, C9 should be able to push that 5 into the LCS, sell the spot, and then actually form a real farm team.

My guess is that they would actually just remove the entire team except for Altec before selling the spot...

Hai still co-owner. I highly HIGHLY doubt he ever leaves. he has stated multiple times that once he true-retires he'll stay on in some capacity and make a career out of c9

Yeah, I'm thinking that the original 3 on the challenger roster all take management rolls after they get into the LCS so that they can sell the spot. Meteos may get swapped down and sold with the spot, or he may stick around and do his own thing.

Lemon really should be a coach, Hai should head the C9 League of Legends division (Director of League is a pretty cool title). Balls can stick around as a streamer or something?
