Why does everyone insist that Pluto isn't a planet? Why does society have to change stuff like that when it's a minor technical detail? You should've put "Planets" as an answer choice though imho.

Pluto is not considered a planet anymore due to a couple of factors. One of the main ones being that it is in the Kuiper Belt. This belt was discovered in the 90s, but didn't seem to pose an issue since everything else in the belt was seemingly smaller than Pluto, until Eris came along. It was another object in this Kuiper Belt AND it was larger than Pluto. This sparked debate over what the actual classifications of planets should be in about 2006. Since there are MANY objects in this Kuiper belt, people were worried that we would just keep adding on more and more planets. There needed to be something more rigorous to keep some kind of order.
So three rules were put in place for a planet to actually be a planet. First, it must orbit the Sun. Second, it must be big enough for gravity to squash it into a round ball. Finally, it must have cleared other objects out of the way in its orbital neighborhood. Pluto meets the first two criteria, but does not meet the third. Along with all of the Kuiper Belt objects being in its orbital neighbourhood, Pluto also crosses paths with Neptune. The orbits are out of sync with each other and they should not meet the issue of ever crashing into each other.
So, this is why Pluto had to be classified as something different!
"Exactly how much does Pluto have to "clear" from its neighborhood to be considered a planet?
And how much has Pluto already influenced its own neighborhood since the planet formed?"
These are some of the main questions against this classification, which continue to be discussed today, I believe!
Pluto has always been controversial tbh. Mythological associations make that a lot funnier to me in some ways. Always getting shafted is Pluto

Although, you could be Vulcan...
Ahahahaha, I'm far too emotional to be Vulcan. Ask anyone.

Yeah that would ruin the point of the game.
I always try and answer as soon as I get the PM as well, partly so I don't accidentally stumble across the answer afterwards, although mostly so I don't forget to send it in.
I remember somebody saying before they had a map on the wall by the computer, and had to avoid looking at it to answer one of the geography questions fairly.
