The worst I've ever had was almost missing a flight out of midway getting there an hour early. I had to cut some people in line and sprint to my gate.

I went three and a half hours early and snuck on the plane after the scheduled board time but in time to still make it. Terminal 5 was worst because you can't load-balance the quickest gate in since T5 has its own bubble.
