You just pick up $2, since Felissan bankrupted according to the rules she doesn't actually have to pay you for some reason.

I clarified the rule and it turned out that the game designer created the rule to prevent kingmaker. For example:

A and B has $11 and C has $1.

If both A and B played Secure and C played steal, C can decide who will win without "bankrupt no need to pay" rule. C can play A for $1 and nothing for B or C can pay B for $1 and nothing for A.

Originally, I oppose but the designer argued that he want to create it "as simple as possible".

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature. I will say bug for simple scenario and feature for complex scenario.

It seems like it would be more to player expectation to have the securing players put stealing players into negative digits, although maybe that doesn't make sense with the physical game?

Perhaps? But I would like to bet on no in my friend's case. I mean, in monopoly, if you're bankrupt, you just hand out the money. The problem is, if bankruptcy in monopoly is simply bilateral, bankruptcy in this game is sometimes multilateral and perhaps my friend found it too complex to write as a rule?

But can't the money just be split? It's the end of the game so having everything in money tokens isn't critical.

In Monopoly when you bankrupt you do pay whoever you land on all you have.

True, but you went bankrupt against 1 person so paying is binary. In this game, it can be against multiple people. Splitting $425 is not really that easy..

I will consult with the game designer.
