Can someone explain the case on GreyICE?

i wouldn't call it a "case" so much as points of interest that i think suggest he's more likely scum than town

i feel all of the pushes he's made this game (both d1 and d2) have been incredibly weak, both in terms of the actual arguments he's making and in terms of the conviction with which he pushes them. i've probed him about, for example, his fire assassin read d1, which is the first example of an incredibly weak read that made no sense to me but got no response. his subsequent arguments for others being scum haven't been much better

i feel he's devoted an inordinate amount of time talking about things that he shouldn't really be talking about (e.g. the setup and his town read on hebichan), compared to how much time he's spent actually hunting scum

and i feel like (even apart from activity issues) he's been trying to avoid making waves in this game and play a pretty under-the-radar game , which isn't necessarily a scum tactic but it certainly doesn't make me feel good about him

oh, and i guess i could talk about why his tone feels off to me (i really do think a lot of his play has felt very robotic), but there's some sort of deliberate tone shift going on in this game and i'm not sure it's alignment-related, so meh

at some point i would like to revisit the hiplop / thestatusquo stuff because i remember thinking the whole thing was overblown

i also remember reading the thestatusquo replacement request and refreshing the page a couple times thinking, "if he's scum and this is fake, he's about to retract it..." only for it to actually happen. i dunno if he's necessarily scum for it, but it's definitely something i could see scum doing (with no intent to actually follow through) in an attempt to appear like frustrated town

small things, but to address your particular concern with him, i don't think what he said was for the purpose of getting whatever town credit it's worth, i do think it's more likely he was telling the truth
