I just won a 1v1v1 EDH game.

Was playing a UG deck, Edric captain, my opening hand was:

Sol Ring
Island
Eldrazi Monument
Sensei's Divining Top
Lorescale Coatl
Spitting Image
aEther Vial

My combo kinda just rolled from there eventually. By the end of the game, my Lorescale Coatl was a 25/25 monster, and Eldrazi was on the field.

I think Wizards just took a giant shit on Hexproof in a recent release (I think it's recent?). It's basically a 1 colorless mana artifact that causes all opponent's creatures to be treated as if they don't have hexproof, and has a interrupt of spending 3 mana and sending it to the discard to make one of your creatures hexproof until end of turn.

Can't remember the name, but it looked stupid.

I loved their draft last Thursday. They drafted and played Empty the Pits as well as Flying Crane Technique.

Flying Corpse Technique for 26 to win was the best.

went to a draft, opened 6 packs (3 for the draft, 3 for 2nd place.) In my draft packs, I opened a Flooded Strand.

In my 3 prize packs, I opened in order: Polluted Delta, Bloodstained Mire, Sorin, Solemn Visitor.

I've no idea of the exact value of everything, but apparently that's a lot of money to open for 1 draft.

I really liked seeing this story on the Wizards mothership today. Making a trans character where it seems to me(although I can't speak directly to that) to be handled with grace and care and where that is not the character's entire identity is a big step.

I am a huge fan of this story. I think it was handled with a ton of grace, and really told a good story for both Alesha and the orc.

I'll just copy past my comment from reddit.

It was a good tale, but the conclusion didn't work for me because the protagonist in the story was the orc and he didnt actually have a conclusion.

I know we talked about this earlier in private, but I figure I'll say it here again. I think he did have a conclusion. Earning a name in the Mardu clan isn't about your feats of strength, of which he was shown to have many. It's about knowing your place and accepting it with pride. And, by the orc's own admission, he lacks the confidence and pride that the Mardu champion, and is not yet deserving of a name.

Plus, the growth of his respect for Alesha and stuff is awesome.

I think Theros' main mechanic was Bestow, which leads me to draw paralels to "Totem Armor" mechanics in Rise of the Eldrazi.

The difference between the two is that RoE has removal like Vendetta, Corpsehatch, Staggershock, Flameslash, Domestication, Induce Despair, Forked Bolt.

And Theros has stuff like Voyage's End, Lightning Strike, Sip of Hemlock, Lash of the Whip.

MtG can't print removal that anymore, which was the major failing of Theros.

We're just navel gazing about what might exist and what we think fair prices for cards are. I'm not sure anyone can be "good" at this, or if it matters. I think the card design is cool, at least, so I'm kind of approaching it from a "if I was designing this card, what would I want to do to balance it?"
