...do Mathblade and Titus always go after each other when they're in games together?

It's becoming predictable.

Also, Scum keep trying to kill opposing Scum and end up accidentally killing Town instead. Hilarious.

We gave Town so much power, yet it hasn't been used that well by certain players.

The rolestop placed on DGB was skillful. I hope the other two Town JoaTs use their abilities wisely.

I think next time I run a 42+er I'm not going to allow Hydras simply to make it easier to fill.

A few other things that are bugging me is the fact that Bellaphant and Aeronaut still haven't posted, or barely at all (just checked the Activity Overview: neither have posted at all). I'm thinking I should give both one final PM and, if they don't respond/play/DO SOMETHING I'm just gonna replace them. No offense, but if you join my game I'd like you to, you know, actually post and play. Is it that much of an asshole position to take to want players in your game to actually play? I don't want to come off like an asshole but it's already Day 3 and some players haven't even posted yet. If I'm not being reasonable or fair someone please show me the light.

Also, I'm still upset with Comparing Realities getting NK'd before even having a chance to post. I couldn't do anything about it without influencing the game. Is there any kind of rule addendum that can be put in place for future games? I just feel like it was a dick move to kill off a player replacing in before he or she could even post, because now I'M the one feeling guilty about it. I mean, you've got a player replacing out and someone asks to replace in, and wants to play, yet they get killed off. It just irks me. It's bothering me probably more than the player who got NK'd. Again, I want people here to check my position to see if it's reasonable or not.

Lastly, from this point on, I'm planning to give each and every player in my games a complementary PT thread to help keep track of the game. I figure if they have a PT to solidify their thoughts it will translate into posting less in the game thread BUT making the quality of those posts go up a bit. I think it's a good idea and can't really hurt anything.

Updated table.

Would much rather lynch Valhalla who said to lynch them based on their play and then I mention an argument based on their play (e.g. not pushing Egg (or townblock but really Egg is scummier of the two) IMHO it would be because it'd reflect on him and IMHO Valhalla wants to lynch town.

Based on how little you are pushing me on, changing my reads after a night of reflection and being AFK during the end of the day, you are either scum or scum are hopping on or both. I have no problem dying to prove it, in fact it is more ideal if a townie dies for it to be me.

Between that and not outing your likely gunsmith innocent
Pushing me for having a life
Calling your gunsmith a guilty when it damn sure isn't a guilty and could have lynched a town PR role.
The obv towning of DGB early in the game for no reason I can see.
Calling iroanavp scum and then when your initial thought is validated calling him town.
As scum you like to townbeard a highly scumread player. I think you picked iroanavp.

Next game and beyond I'll include in the ruleset that PRs cannot target themselves. I assumed it was general knowledge that they can't do that (if Docs could target themselves that'd be broken).

But sometimes its necessary to target yourself. I was in a game once where I was a mafia bus driver and there was also a town bus driver. There was this kind of mindgame going on where we had to make the right call about who to commute each night. I had to decided whether or not to commute myself each night and who to switch myself with because i knew that the other bus driver could interfere and I could end up killing myself. I'm sure the other player was worrying about similar things. If he wasn't able to target himself then he would've died quickly and the game would've been lopsided in my favor. It also would've been less fun lol. My point is that its aright to let PRs target themselves. Maybe you could just have a rule that PRs are only allowed to target themselves once per game.

(1) It's not unreasonable to want players who sign up for your games to play them. Some moderators require that
all
players send a Night action, even if they do not have one, to confirm their interest in continuing to play for the following Day. Others have a policy of prodding all players who had not posted within 24-48 hours of the Night phase starting and requiring a response by the end of Night, as well. I'm fairly sure that Aeronaut and Bellaphant have been overwhelmed by the pace of the game and the relatively short Days, though.

(2) No. That's a risk that the replacing player takes when they accept a slot during the Night. Personally, I'm a little glad whenever this happens to me because it means that I don't have to catch up, but I can see how this is a waste of potential replacements. There's not much a moderator can do about this, unfortunately.

(3) If players need their own places to keep notes, they can ask you for a private topic (make it known if it's something you're willing to do) or use Notepad. The people who do this are in the minority if previous Mafia Discussion threads on note-taking are any indication.

You can do this in role PMs. If someone later tries to fake a claim of a self-protecting doctor, then that person can have all of the salt in the seven seas.

In the past I would offer it but few if any accepted. There's always a chilling effect when you offer it in general because then no one takes it. By cutting to the quick and automatically giving them the PTs it ensures at least a few will use it frequently. Even if only a little, it'll help improve the quality of the game's posts... at least when it comes to Large games.
