I think the logic is more along the lines, of, N is a spy and thus this mission passing will advance KTS's wincon, but N being confirmed spy is not a big deal as he's already widely scumread.

"Blatant" is determined by the majority

The fact that you're playing in a way you perceive as town-like does not mean everyone else will see you as town. In fact, your own perception of your play has absolutely no importance. If your goal is to be seen as blatantly town, you should do things that the majority of people in the game will see as things that only town would do.
