Just trolling around is it just me or have games somehow gotten slower and more filled with lurkers too?

Like i didn't humanly think that was possible and you'd think the only actual plus for this god forsaken infestation of hydras would be that they'd use their mouthwords.

Is this a byproduct of the new feel good mafia without enough bloodlust to grease the wheels or what

The Micro Queue's super empty at the moment. My game was given 14 days to fill, and it's already spent 12 of them. (If it runs out, I'll try again with a different setup.)
The Blitz Queue doesn't exist any more, but when people try to run blitz games, they get a rash of people not reading the rules and then complaining that the deadlines are too fast. (Except for that one which ended in a little under an hour due to a mistake I made several years ago which didn't have any immediate effects.)

Hm, my first change impressions are some roles, like apparantly godfather now being banned or something? But mostly the bloat. [old lady voice]In my days it was considered impolite to spam game threads and make 30 page+ first days, and you were also supposed to shut up after a lynch and not spam 5 pages more. This is no improvement.[/old lady voice]

Reading this, it also seems a good idea to push for more LaL. There seems to be more flaking too, but that might just be sample size. There are fewer Newbie games, that is probably a bad sign. This new Matrix6 set-up seems nice though, and I do like the dead threads (that's new, right?) and the increase of daytalk.

Nowadays towns are perfectly fine with spamming up 200-300 pages in two days, let alone that we were setting records back then with breaking 200 pages for an entire game.

Because people think that effort is indicative of alignment
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

For certain people it definitely is indicative of something, for others it means nothing.

Eh I appreciate the drive towards standardization in normal games. Mostly because it makes them more distinct from Theme Games, and that's all for the good. There was some truly bizarre shit in the normal queue that should never have gotten there.

Agree Neapolitan and Role Cop are the only two needed and Vanilla cop is the bastard love child that's totally worthless in every way.

Why so much hate for vanilla cop? :(

nai is a silly term that should be beaten to death should it ever appear in any games

Vanilla cop is better than Neapolitan because it adds a sense of mystery. Neapolitan is just a bargain bin Normal Cop.

Mystery is exactly what we don't want too much of in normal games. The idea always has been normal games are more or less "the setup adds spice to dayplay, but doesn't become the focus of it" and theme games are where "setup mystery" can sometimes take over.
