And how would I know who else might've been given access? If you hadn't realized it; people give people stuff in this game, and you don't necessarily know who gave you this particular thing.

That's not how Varsoon uses his dummy players.

I was on the Scumteam in Suikoden, Lickety controlled Bright the Barking Dragon. In Bloodborne I was on the Scumteam, I controlled Plain Doll and my Scummate Nahdia controlled Patches.

No one else was given access, certainly not random Townies.

Shiro jumped out of nowhere with posts 3173 and 3991.

She knew what Peridot was by then.

Before everyone else in the game except you.

But she had no way of knowing you had control of Peridot for 1 time only, did she? You two would have to have a PT, or you'd have to announce it in the game thread for Shiro to know.

Why did Shiro care about Peridot?

I think I'd rather ally with someone I know to be town. Thank you very much. It's bad enough I already lost my one and only cool event, and for me to stay in-play I would need to discuss my moon-logic with someone I can trust.

I bet it would be even better if you could fuse with a ScumGem.

Although I'm leaning that way, I'd just want to say we don't KNOW that. Not yet, anyway. According to the wiki Peridot was a Homeworld Gem that defied their leader and later on joined the Crystal Gems. That would suggest she might be a Crystal Gem, yes.. but she might not. You do know how Varsoon messes with his roles, so be careful what you assume.

Corrupt is actually something she has never been. She was a homeworld gem not a corrupt one. Corrupt ones are monsters.

but my playstyle is generally to fill a slot until day 2/3 unless someone fucks up early game and i have to get involved earlier.

Good point about the fact that claiming ascetic now is a death sentence.

Wrong.
Claiming ascetic is taking the lesser of two evils.
Don't claim it, and actions fail when targeting you? Won't take long for people to figure it out, and since you didn't claim it, instalynch. One failed action wouldn't do it, but if two targeted Mathblade, which in this game is rather the possibility, it would be hard to justify why BOTH failed.
Claim it, and you can hide behind the incompetency of predecessors, which to be fair is true regardless of their alignment.

Claiming the ascetic was the smarter course of action regardless of Mathblade's alignment.

I just don't see it as particularly relevant one way or another.

Mathblade's slot is scum by play. All of it, start to finish.
Mathblade's claim is the type which could come from town or scum in equal amounts.
I happen to lean towards it making more sense as scum using a fakeclaim, but even if I didn't, with a null claim and scum play...the course of action is obvious.
