Man. I was just flamed a lot for going Morgana Top in a game we won handily and I didn't feed the enemy Riven. I even switched from Teemo to appease them (even though that's a winning lane for Teemo).
At least we won and I got promoted, but it's like people are totally oblivious to the strengths of solo-lane morgana even though she's quite a bit better than support morgana.
i mean, you have to agree that the complaining is understandable though, don't you?
these people you're with aren't morgana level 7s; all they know is that she's basically never played top
Not really. Just a second of thinking about it should make it reach the level of "pay attention to your own stuff": it's a champion played fine in the mid, it has a ton of team fight helpful CC, has a supportive black shield, and can push waves over and over again. I don't necessarily expect my teammates to know that Morgana is deceptively tanky, but it's not like that should mean flaming.
Except for super assassiny champions, I think most mid laners can go top without causing too much fuss in soloqueue.
I've been coaching a friend out of bronze and so far he's silver 4 thanks to very active guidance about decision making, items, and stuff. Feels good to see progress made.
If I see someone lock shit like vel'koz jungle and I look them up to see that they've done it 12 games in a row with an overall 60% winrate, I'm going to assume they know what they're doing and play through it.
If I see someone lock shit like vel'koz jungle and I look them up to see that they've done really troll picks 12 games in a row with a 15% winrate, I'm going to assume they're trolling down to bronze 5 and run for the hills.
It feels like common sense to me and idk why people are so willing to bitch about things that aren't toptier all the time.
A trash pick that wins lane can't be trash. It's fine if someone locks in Vel'Koz jungle and you yell at them, but if they lock in Vel'Koz jungle and go 10/0/15 then there's no way you can yell at them, even if their past 20 games are troll picks.
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

Yes, but his game records do not matter. All that matters is how he performs in YOUR game. Before and after that game, he vanishes from your life. So the only thing you can care about is YOUR game.

Anyone having trouble getting their pvp.net kernel to work so League starts up? I couldn't get it to start, thought it was because I hadn't updated since 6.19, removed and re-downloaded the game, and it still isn't working. What's up with it?
(Also, I have no idea how, but I pulled this "Cho in ramen" image from wikipedia while I was trying to deselect text on this page. No fucking clue how or why that fucking happened.)

I won't comment on that, because I think intentionally dodging games because you didn't like your team is unethical.

Not playing to win the game in a ranked environment is insulting and far more unethical than dodging a game where you have reason to believe that people aren't going to give their all.
Ranked is meant to be competitive. Dodging is a tool you can use to avoid games you are fairly certain are lost. Saying dodging games is unethical is like saying muting people is unethical.
No dodging no muting no teleport. That's the bushido of a real solo queue player. Everyone else is just too much of a coward to show the fighting spirit. CERO!! MIEDO!!

Dodging is both ethical and expected. If you're not using it in ranked, you're a fool.
Riot allows for it too. Why else have your first dodge of the day only worth 3 LP? At that level there's little reason not to dodge if you think there's a less than even chance you'll win (depending on what your LP gains/losses are for wins and losses, the exact percent where it's the right call will change).
