To go back to my original point, would saying "competitions that aren't the very best can be difficult to feel incentivzed to support" be less gross?
Not really. Every division/league of every sport has a different style of play. I don't necessarily think that there is a definitive "best" thing when it comes to the actual enjoyment of something. People will tell you that the "best play" for league is in korea, the "best play" for soccer is in england, and the "best play" for basketball is in America. But that doesn't mean those are the most enjoyable, right? Up until the last 3-4 years, the "pace and space" basketball was most played in Europe, with the big time 3pt shooting big men and such. So if that was something that you found more enjoyable, that was probably what you preferred to watch. On average the best soccer players in the world play in the premiership, but it's a little but of a slower and more physical game as compared to other leagues that are a little faster and a little flashier(La liga for starters, although I find myself watching a lot of Liga MX - easier time zone and availability). As for league, if you like constant action and insane team fights and wild objective calls, you might find LCK to be really fucking boring and might really enjoy watching LPL play. And as I previously mentioned, there might be availability issues that prevent one from being able to constantly watch the very best - I'm sure it is pretty difficult to watch LCK live on the east coast and it's honestly not a cake walk on the west coast. I say support what you enjoy and it doesn't matter who's the "best".
As for the players themselves, I say get paid while you can, and who gives a fuck where you play or what your opposition is. You only have a limited amount of time to make as much money as possible so get cracking.
Hey, we just saw a great example. Bro really likes watching the MLS. And who'd begrudge him that? I've seen some of the matches, they are rather exciting.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

Not really, since it's grounded in a fundamental moral position that WINNING is all that matters, which is a kind of disgusting position to hold.
Like, people root for teams for reasons beyond "rooting for the winning team."
I root for the US soccer team because nationalism. Not because we're the best.
I root for DCU because they're my hometown club, not because they're good (and let's be real, until the end of July we were really, really, REALLY fucking terrible).
I root for the SF Giants because they're my hometown club for baseball (was only a baseball/tennis fan growing up). I stuck through the Giants during the shit years at the end of Bond's career and was still going to games despite how shit we were.
I root for TL because I've been a TL fan since the Curse days because of who they had on their S2 roster. Also because I like Steve a lot more than Regi or Hotshot. Being a C9 fan is a bit gross to me, because by the time they came into the scene, you really should have already had a team and fuck you for jumping ship.

Are you referring to the plays or the players here? <_<

It's worth doing. It's not worth showing up early for on its own. We walked through it in about 2-3 minutes but you could probably do it in 10 if you walked around slowly. At least for the SF group stages it was not a problem to get in to do.
