Number of available hard CC abilities vs. percentage of hard CC abilities hit?In post 1949, Psyche wrote:i've learned the api

i wonder if you guys have any ideas?
one thing i'm interested in doing is using the "provides for the team" section of lolguru's champion pages to examine how abstracted champion strengths like "Poke", "Disengage" or "Zone Control" are represented within solo queue and contribute to winrates both overall and within/against particular team compositions
shouldn't produce terribly surprising results in general but might uncover or highlight some dynamics of the metagame
maybe as a pilot i'll just relate the stuff with champion.gg statistics
but maybe i should think of more productive ways to use my time
Just throwing it out there.2011 scummies winner (BTS help) and participant;
coming back to Mafia...slowly. Keep an eye for me as a mod.
Also keep an eye for setup review requests.-

You would identify champions with these qualities and assess winrates across the spectrum of abstracted champions strengths? How would this be quantified, exactly? Would totally be interested in some data on this subject, 13/10 would recommend.In post 1949, Psyche wrote:one thing i'm interested in doing is using the "provides for the team" section of lolguru's champion pages to examine how abstracted champion strengths like "Poke", "Disengage" or "Zone Control" are represented within solo queue and contribute to winrates both overall and within/against particular team compositions-

So the straightforward way to do it is just that - identifying winrates for abstracted champion strengths rather than champions. That obviously isn't some perfect measure of the overall effectiveness of a champion strength (some champion strengths are included in teamcomps as a response to the inclusion/exclusion of other strengths elsewhere, for example), but it's as a good a measure as most champion winrates are.
More interestingly, for each champion strength, we can look at its effectiveness (and other factors, like popularity) in the context of other champion strengths co-selected for a team or its opponent. Like maybe zone control works especially well on the team when a team has one or more carries, or maybe too many of one champion strength (too many carries?) depresses the effectiveness of that champion strength. This sort of analysis allows for a more abstract analysis of team comp dynamics that avoids getting bogged down in the specifics of individual champions.
Often when people talk about which champions belong on or against a team, they speak more about strengths than about specific champions, they talk about "peel" or "waveclear" rather than Janna or Ziggs specifically. In general, hopefully segmenting stuff by champion strength instead of champion will help us draw or confirm suspicions of connections that before were ambiguous because, for example, a particular champion with a particular kit isn't doing well this patch.
Blah blah blah.
The statistics seem sort of complicated, but it's apparent that people will be satisfied at first with less rigorous methods as long as holes in statistical logic are made obvious...You can't step in the same river twice.-
