Let's assume that the scum motivation WAS purely to take out Magna, how does this information help us catch scum?

zakk, a flipped townie, was pushing the wagon the hardest. Scum probably jumped onto the wagon at some point, but clearly so did town. Meanwhile scum wouldn't all want to get on a mislynch wagon, and they wouldn't have even needed to. So how does scumhunting solely from the Magna wagon help us?

There are several elements to MoI's lynch.

1. zakk is an idiot, who plays a cop role that loudly?
2. firebringer seems to me to have basically voted for MoI because firebringer doesn't like MoI. firebringer refused to answer questions about yume, because of prior game history to solidify my belief in that. then once he screwed the town over with it and saw the uphill battle ahead, replace out.
3. strong push near an "assumed" deadline that wasn't proven allowing for the lazy town and scum jump on easily
4. shiro rejoins the game just in time to quick hammer.

As far as I'm concerned, we can start at Shiro and work our way backwards with those who were on the MoI lynch. We'll get scum with the first shot and find more scum, sooner than later without looking anywhere else.

This whole "all the scum aren't on the lynch so we should ignore all those on the MoI lynch" mindset going around is absurd/scummy.

I've done a search for death lawyer. There is nothing to be found on this site or on the wiki. A lawyer is usually a mafia rb. A death miller doesn't get "death millered" as Narna claimed, "I'm being death lawyered" and implied someone was doing it to her.
