Wasn't planning on it despite being in Columbus and having a legacy deck, got a PPTQ the weekend after, then SC Columbus the next weekend, then a fun regional event the week after that so was planning on taking the weekend off.
Got to play a No Ban List Modern event this last weekend. I played Blazing Infect beating Dredge, Pod (with regular damage... twice), and UR Delver and a loss to Elves.

I believe they changed the rule around that so that you can't do this. Same thing as the oblivion ring trick, basically.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Unless I'm missing something, that trick should work with Queller actually. They didn't edit the rules on that interaction, they just changed the ability so it's not two connected triggers but a single trigger. Compare Oblivion Ring to Banishing Light. Since Queller's trigger interacts with the stack and not the battlefield, they needed to add the "cast" line to it's effect so it can work as intended.
Of course, given Queller's ability, it's hard to utilize twice. The only time it's really useful is perhaps during a counterspell war.

With Essence Flux? I don't think so. There will always be an ETB trigger immediately with Essence Flux because it's a blink. I don't believe there's a way to stack anything for permanent exile.

There would have to be two spells with CMC 4 or less on the stack ahead of the queller trigger, no? Assuming there were, you use the first ETB to counter Spell A, flux Queller, Leaves trigger goes on stack above exile trigger, Queller returns to play and you can target another spell.
If there's only one spell you'd be forced to target that on the second etb and so that'd exile it before the the first etb trigger could exile it permanently. Which is to say, it's a near-impossible corner case.

yeah. But there wasn't any sort of indication there was a second legal target.

Playing. I'm sticking to judging store events right now, nothing bigger.

I would've made the long drive but I qualified to a local store championship that guarantees 100 dollars just for showing up and playing six rounds and 200-700 dollars for top 8'ing the event. If only the event weren't mostly standard.
Planning on being in Louisville and San Jose for GPs in January though.
one big thing that I'm gonna do that I just haven't gotten the chance to do is replace several more of the Plains with utility lands, since other than Emeria and Emeria Shepherd there's very little reason to have that many Plains, so if you have any suggestions about specific lands I should be including, then that would definitely be helpful.

Oh dear. If I recall correctly I played like crap that whole game.
