I agree with this 100%. I don't agree with lynching Pine though because if we do, he gets to pick who the item goes to. If he dies at night, we get to vote on it.

Lynching scum outweighs the benefit of any item. We don't know that we have a vig.

OK so here slysly is responding to some towny-sounding persivul stuff about the pine claim, I'm on board with what persivul has said there but that is safe stuff to say as scum (I'm SRing persivul hard) - and agree with slysly here as well, and the mentality from slysly seems parallel to mine - scumpine lynched he gives to fellow scummy, dies at night means he's been targeted by scum because of the claim (and is town duh) and scum again aren't assured to have the item

scum will want to lynch pine if pine is town more than wait til Night, because, hey, that's a towny lynch to them and that is primary goal

I see a lot of pushing for a pine lynch - which also seems really off to me because ummm, hello, maj voted him to get the item. If maj. thought he was scum and should be lynched, we shouldn't have given him the item.

I doubt a scum would go to those lengths just to get 1 item, feels like too much risk for some unknown reward.

I could see pine as a player doing it as scum PR, and I could see a scum goon doing it for many reasons, combine the 2 and I find it quite possible this is the case, combined with a lot of the scumminess I see in the rest of pine's play, yes, certainly not discounting this possibility.

I see more kuror and I have more and more of the same thoughts about persivul so I'll not reiterate them really.

Wasn't talking about that, maybe we'd cut directly to the root of the problem more easily if I just laid out an entire case on you next time.

I tend to scumread players without purpose. When I see an iso of someone who's vla but still with enough time to make reaction posts coupled with your first few posts pinging me as awkward somewhat you can see why my vote was placed where it's at right now. What's the purpose behind catching up and quoting creature's activity list to display frustration about having attention called to you for being away if you had already displayed that in the same post to me?

To me this seems less like someone sorting the game and more like someone coasting by, looking like they're dancing with the thread but really are just posting words for words.

But I think I may understand how you play a touch better now. Let's not make more noise with this let's talk about who you're scumreading besides pine.

It's just for something that would be so class specific, i don't see it being that because i think a lot of x-shot abilities would exist (this is role madness) meaning it's basically usable by most players.

If you recall, there was only one power of it that was class specific in Curse of Strahd for 5e. They widened it partially in order to allow for unconventional parties, while retaining the one large feature for the typically correct party.

A question was brought up to me that was not explained in the rules. I added it to the rules section, but here is the relevant rule:

If someone has an item (and it's uses not depleted) when they die, one of two things happen. If hung, the player may declare another player to leave his belongings to during twilight time. That player will receive any items the lynchee had just before we change to Night Phase. If they were killed during the night, the item(s) will be voted on a new recipient at Quest Selection the next Day Phase. Votes will tracked separately for Quest Selection and Item Receiving during Part One of Day Phase.

The amulet recharges a limited-use power to full uses. It isn't likely to be useful to me, but it should be helpful to someone in late game when I'm dead. Choose wisely.

It's my understanding that the item passes on, on a lynch, before the night phase, and so can still be used. The person gets to select where the item goes. Let's kill Pine to see if scum took it for themselves, and if they're town they get to select who gets the item.

You're literally saying "Town helped him get this item, now let's lynch him to see if he is actually town or not." That's terrible, and I can't even fathom how that would ever come from a town mindset.

Regarding Dunn's approach above: the first is bad, as he seems to be saying we should try this even with no scum read on Pine or the Pine item wagon. The second one seems to indicate he's suspicious of Pine and/or the wagon, but it's not clear.

I don't like it, but reading dunn's ISO overall he's not high on my priorities rn.
