i think in general xyzzy's posts have been putting it on a bit thick.

i've seen firebringer get defensive about his meta in the sense that he says "I'd do this as scum tho" once before and he was town there, but maybe he would do THAT as scum too! idk, i guess my gut instinct is to townread it but when i really think about it, that instinct seems to not make sense. i'm trying to be like, more CRITICAL about my reads this game because in general i suck eggs as town.

true. I actually had to go check just now how many characters there were and it was several more than I'd remembered, which makes it plausible that

each non-town player has a unique fake claim given to them by the mod.

in my mind I thought there were like 15 students, which would make giving each scum a fake claim very unlikely in a 13-player game, but I was off on that number.

I have a hunch that there still won't be that direct correlation, though. probably just a random-ish selection of characters

the post muses about fakeclaims. wheres the excessive detail that bothers you? fakeclaims are always unique, always given by the mod, and giving non-town players fakeclaims is really common practice in themes.

imo the reason its towny is bc of the believable forgetting about the number of available students/characters that would facilitate fakeclaims (as opposed to having too few characters for that and Dunn just assigning alignment independent of flavour)
