An alternative suggestion for handling event-based titles: instead of automatically setting them aside for x days/weeks/months, have some sort of nomination process for putting stuff in limbo, which can be invoked on a case-by-case basis by the title thread community.

2 extra limbo days per anti nom?
nah that just delays the process rather than having a proper waiting time. it should be standardized or done on a case by case basis tailored to the limbo time rather than based on anti-noms

You'd likely just get the same people who don't like event-based titles nominating to put them in limbo basically every time one comes up, and it just adds another thing for the title fairy to keep track of
I'm very interested in the possibility of improving the visibility of the Player Title subforum so that more users (ie not the usual GD crowd) will be interested in participating in discussions and, more importantly, in proposing new titles. I'm not sure asking Zor to make yet another Site Announcement is the right approach, so maybe we can brainstorm other possibilities?

I decided to post "haha just don't post that in the main thread", but to get up to date on the main thread first.

Maybe move the subforum into GD instead of Site Ideas. I know that I never scroll down that far, and the only reason I found out this existed in the first place was because I got a nomination and was told about it.
If it were in GD beside GTKAS, The Arcade, and The Speakeasy, it'd be waaay more visible!

But then i can't use that as my title! Unfair to people that might like that

Create a referral reward program. Each user gets a special link to the Player Title subforum which they can use to refer their friends to the forum. If someone refers 5 friends, each of whom suggest 3 titles each which get put into use, then that referrer gets a special limited edition "Neighborizer" title. Because they're special.

the wiki is a commonly used tool by newcomers who dont have the social ties to existing scummers to explain shit to them
that would qualify as "not the usual GD crowd"
Routine day with a dirt cheap brush
Then a week goes by and it goes untouched
Then two, then three, then a month
Then the rest of your life, you beat yourself up
