I don't intend lynching you Elmo, unless you continue with lack of content. My vote was a pressure vote, note that if you were at negative 2 already, I wouldn't have voted you. But if someone isn't going to play, they are wasting time (this isn't reason enough to lynch you however).

You mentioned that if people had questions for you, you would answer. I think your missing the point, it isn't that you aren't answering the questions as much as it is that you aren't scumhunting. I don't find your activity scummy, as other players have done this in the past and turned out town when lynched (such as JDodge). Jdodge said he was doing an expirement, and everyone hated it because his 'expirement' was ruining the game. If your experimenting-which I highly doubt is the case- I suggest you stop, because you take the fun of the game away. Whatever the reason of doing what you are doing, I suggest you start scumhunting and providing information.

I apologize for my infrequent posting, I started a new job just as this game was getting started and I haven't been able to participate as often as I'd like. If I feel the game is getting away from me I will request replacement, but at the moment I think I can stay on top.

pwayne is the player that concerns me the most, he seem to be very good at following the crowd and then justifying his reasoning afterward.

Just out of curiousity:

1) everyone piles on elmo, gettin' their lynch on
2) elmo posts/whines
3) all apologize for attacking elmo

Is it always going to work this way, or what?

Ryan: You asked if I thought there were scum on my wagon, I said I wouldn't be surprised; I don't have much beyond what I said.

TylerJ: What are you doing that I'm not/wasn't, with respect to scumhunting?

DeathSauce: PWayne's 169 seemed a little overblown, but I'm unconvinced he's scum at the moment. How do you feel he's followed the crowd?

Lowell: I'm sorry, whining?

@lowell- Who has apologized for attacking elmo?
@elmo- Post 169 was overblown but for good reason.
@tyler- Is voting for somebody all that is required to scumhunt?
@PEG- What about Elmo makes you "cool" with lynching him?
@Destructor- who are your top 2 scummy?

Oh, and with my suspicious, there are three players, JDodge, Tobaissen and Flameaxe, I obviously don't have a read on due to lurking/scarcity of posts who could easily be scum.

Do you think that was more scummy or antitown? Given the fact that you have a read on him, doesn't that mean that he's actually contributed something to the game?

What do you think about his contribution as opposed to Tyler's or DeathSauces?

First off, does activity or lack thereof determine alignment? No.

The fact isn't that I was trying to get the focus off of me, after all, one person is hardly enough attention to get worked up about. Too reverse it, It seemed Elmo was trying to get attention off of himself; turns out it worked.

Ur rite. But it does give us an indication of it. It is in pro-town aligned players' interests to be active. Anything less is bad play. *points to post about lurkers from earlier on*

And anyway, way to strawman my vote. You've been very active, but that wasn't my point. You've hardly given us any content besides jumping on the Elmo wagon. It's an issue of
content
not
activity

Heh. Killa seven's 131 has changed. I guess I'm going to hope that UltimaAvalon changed it.
TylerJ wrote:However, you say he did the right thing because you think what I did was scummy. Right?
No, actually. I just don't find that sort of scum-snare very useful or likely to catch scum. What it generally does is what it seems to have done in this case: it got one person to respond, in a way that didn't provide the information that you were hoping it would. These kinds of scum-snares always seem to be built around the assumption that the scum don't know that they're scum. I assure you that they do, and never (in my experience) fall into such basic traps. So no, I didn't find what you did particularly scummy. Just not particularly useful, either.

I'm not really sure what you're refering to here.
It was interesting in light of your 122, because you said in your 122:
destructor, in 122, wrote:To tell the truth, I'm still trying to work out whether or not this game's left the random stage. While I'm finding a lot of these posts entertaining, they're still pretty unhelpful.
then followed up in your 130, two days later, with:
destructor, in 130, wrote:There have been enough things happening in this game for you to have commented on without having to pull something like that.
They don't quite say opposite things, but they sure aren't consistent with each other. And see above. And while you're at it, see below.
pickemgenius wrote:Yes, No, Vote:, Good ass opinions there if I must so say!
I actually... agree with this. ::drills out brain::
pwayne66 wrote:Elmo is posting just enough to avoid replacement but is very intentional providing zero content. He is not misunderstood. He is not being unfairly pressured. He has had ample time to post something. He has received plenty of warnings. He is blatantly phucking with us and it is decidedly anti-town.
QFT from start to finish. And add "annoying as hell" somewhere in there.
Elmo wrote:I rather disliked Jester's hop on the wagon in 82, so I voted him. I also didn't like TylerJ's vote, hence my agreement with pwayne66's vote in 121; Jesters' felt more like he was reaching for a thin reason to justify it rather than it being obvious he didn't have a good reason, which (modulo WIFOM) generally seems scummier to me.
As a matter of fact, I think destructor's play has been fairly townish, but also a little bit... lazy. As I point out above, there's not much logical "flow-through" on his posts, linking one to the next. In my experience, sometimes that's scummy play, but I've seen destructor play scum up close, and that doesn't seem to be his style. That makes me think it's more likely lazy townie play, like he isn't taking notes and is operating off his feelings for people rather than evidence. It also leads to day-one single-targeting, which I also don't care for (and which I pointed out in my 120). So yeah, I voted for him to try to pressure him off that play-style. At least now, destructor is double-targeting. ;)
Elmo wrote:I would've answered anything if it were posed to me, and I don't think I've provided zero content, although I suppose that leads to a debate about what constitutes content.
To say the least. I'm curious why you said this:

I admit I haven't provided much content. And sometimes that can be a scumtell, but although I have been able to add my two cents, I haven't the time and brainpower to make an excellent PbP analysis. I just got done writing an essay:P. If you think I am scummy for my lack of content, then by all means, kill me. Yet, I would argue that this could be correlated to lack of time, intellegence, or laziness.

Jester
: I haven't, as far as I'm aware, baited ryan. I don't think I'd actually mentioned him at the point you said that; I think you're mixing me up with JDodge. Why were you voting destructor when you believed he was pro-town?

TylerJ
: My problem is that you assert that I'm not scumhunting or providing information, when I don't see how you have, at the moment; you've point-blank refused to explain one of your votes, for example. So it seems slightly hypocritical, from my point of view.

I don't follow much of the conversation about Tyler's 'snare' in 129. Um. Jester/Tyler/someone, how would this catch scum?
