Oversoul seems to spend a lot of early game only on the mechanics and tactics, foes then give reads, but seems to drop back without fully engaging with anyone. Current game is a series of questions that aren't followed up. Fluff play that looks like scum hunting... Scum read. This however is at odds with my Hun scum read as they list them early on as their strongest town read... That doesn't seem very likely for teammates, so if over soul is scum I am more inclined to say Hun would be town. If over soul is town it means nothing to the Hun alignment.

But even other than that his play feels town, though annoying at times.

Once again, people are not robots and they don't play the exact way in every game they have. Do you know how many times I have heard "you are not playing like town-Wisdom" in games I was town? Playstyle depends on tons of different things: playerlist, mood, RL circumstances, type and mechanic of game, role etc etc. It can be completely different from game to game even if the person has the same alignment and the same role. So you have to understand that saying "singer is not playing like she did in one scum game, she is town" and "TWIE is not playing like he did in one town game, he is scum" are completely flawed things that don't have even 1% realness to them. It's just wrong, plain and simple.

You say that TWIE provoked MS. What are you doing right now, are you not provoking me? How is it different? How would you react to someone entering the game and trying to loudly push a policy lynch on you? If you took an issue by me mildly getting annoyed by your playstyle, then I guarantee you that you would react in the same way as TWIE if not worse if you were in his shoes. Do you disagree?

Why do you immediately go to the ill intent scenario of "TWIE was provoking MS to cause chaos" instead of considering what I said above, which is a much more logical explanation of TWIE'S actions?

Don't get me wrong, I heavily use meta myself - I am not arguing that meta is useless or something. Yes, there are patterns, there are little things that someone will do as town but will fail to reproduce them as scum, etc. But in order to use that meta you need serious experience with the players - lots of games. You cannot do that with a single game.

I didnt even take it seriously. I got attacked countless times but I know I did a mistake and got over it, however I talked TWIE into starting doing stuff... THREE times. and he literally threw me away and went back to what he did.

I read. You told Andrius to try and be good to each other. I think that worked because Andrius is not MS, tbh. MS has an annoying reputation sitewide, it's much less likely that people will try and be civil to MS pushing a policy on them.

In my last game a townie faked a guilty on town and obviously got lynched for it. There was zero understandable town motivation in it, just a town player with a huge ego. Yet if someone paid attention he would see scum wouldn't just do that either.

There are sometimes plays like that where town just don't play like town

be playing. But once again, people are not robots to act exactly like they should, and such things happen. This is why we should be looking at motivation.

How hard would it be for TWIE to be playing the game normally, scumhunting, getting reads (it's multiball, he can do that even as scum), and attract minimal attention? Why choose to willingly lurk and admit it, to willingly not do things and admit it? There is no scum motivation in that, and even if the counter is "but there's no town motivation either", the answer is in the above paragraphs.

But I really am not keen on the ricastle lynch. I just can't shake that his frustrations and attacks on wisdom seem to be less tactical and more emotive. And I can't get my head round whether it's emotive through scum flailing or town exasperation. So I don't want to touch that today.

It's typical scum frustration for being caught for reasons they cannot understand and the fact I treat him how I do, not willing to talk with him or give him chances to defend himself, just fuels it. Scum are players too, they can have genuine emotion, that's nothing to townread people over.

@singer: wisdom is good at keeping pace with fast moving game. I, unfortunately, am not. I've been mostly talking to him via Skype (which itself is p hard cos of the almost polar opposite timezone) and when I had a chance to talk to him I was in my morning job.
