6 years ago, a girl chosen by the light and her allies defeated the being of darkness, known as Josephine.

In order to slay Josephine, the girl sacrificed herself to ensure that Josephine never returns to spread her darkness across the land. Her name was Alexandra Appleby. Her sacrifice defeated the darkness and the land was engulfed in light, resolving all its conflict.

As for the 5 allies who accompanied her, they now live normal, happy lives, blessed by the light and relieved of their previous pains. These heroes were unlikely, their lives tarnished by the harshness of the world:

A girl who lost her parents to the pressures of darkness, thus losing her way herself.

A girl who owns many riches, but never truly earned it.

A girl of mystery, never understood her past, and isn’t willing to talk about it.

An intelligent boy with an ego, but that was just to hide the fact he is lonely and depressed.

And me, a nobody who missed Alexandra more than anything in the world.

Now, 6 years later after the defeat, I, Sal, dedicated myself as the new guardian of the land, but it wasn’t necessary: There was no darkness, crime was nonexistent.

Until today…

To the north of the capital, Appleby Heights, is the high school. Inside, a teacher was slain, the first murder in the land since the defeat. The teacher’s name was

Mr. N

(Literally, no one questioned it, and no one had reason to).

came to me and told me he had no idea why this happened, but he brought forth 13 of N’s students. Any of these students could be the culprit or culprits, and it was necessary to deal with them now.
If the darkness is back, I need to get rid of it.

Day, Night, and Twilight:
(9) Each Day phase will last for two weeks apiece and each Night phase will last for two days apiece. I will post specific deadlines in the game thread at the start of every Day and Night phase.
(10) Players may continue to talk during Twilight, including the player that has been lynched.
(11) If you do not send me your Night action before the specified deadline, I will assume that you are not performing an action on that Night.
(12) If you know you will be unavailable during a Night phase, you may send me your night action during the preceding Day phase if you so desire.
(13) Deadline extension requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

(14) Please post all votes and unvotes using either the bold tag or the vote tag. Votes should look like this:

(15) Unvotes are helpful, but not necessary.
(16) Please refrain from engaging in any kind of voting trickery. If it looks like a vote, I'm counting it as a vote.
(17) A lynch will only occur when a majority (more than 50% of all possible votes) is reached. The number of votes needed to hammer will be included with every vote count.
(18) If a majority is not reached by the deadline, there will be no lynch on that Day.
(19) Once a hammer occurs, no votes or unvotes will prevent the lynch from happening.
(20) Additional votes include VOTE: No Lynch to end the Day with no lynch (which will also require a majority) and VOTE: Draw to end the game in a draw (which will require 100% agreement from all living players).

Activity:
(21) You will be expected to post at least once every 48 hours. If you go more than 48 hours without posting, you will be prodded.
(22) If you receive a prod, you will have 24 hours to post in the game thread. If you do not respond to your prod within 24 hours, you will be replaced. Additionally, if I have to prod you more than three times, you will be replaced.
(23) If you know that you will have limited access to the game for more than a few days, please let me know either in the thread or via PM.

Communication with the Moderator:
(24) I may be cooler and sexier than you, but I do still make mistakes every now and then. If you notice an error with the vote counts, deadlines, or anything else related to the game, please let me know and I will correct the issue.
(25) I will not answer any role-related questions in the game thread. If you have any questions about your role, the (theoretical) roles of any other players in the game, or (theoretical) role interactions, send me a PM. Do not try to trick me into confirming a player's role. I will not be amused.

I took a look at them, and they looked at me. Some looked impressed to see me, others looked ashamed, some didn't give a shit. But there was one thing I knew for sure:

atleast someone here killed Mr. N, but why?

People often identify other people by avatars. Having no avatar means you are harder for me to identify when you post, especially if there's multiple people with no avatar. It lets me slide from game to game and immediately recognize who you are.

People who don't have avatars realize this, and are thus scummier to me.

how does it read like coaching? I think of coaching as like helping someone play the game. Telling him to keep avatars off was a slightly antagonistic statement, so I don't see how it is relating it to coaching.

I don't read it as antagonistic in the slightest, but you're kind of giving him an "'atta boy", imo.

Like, "don't let these guys bully you, you can have an avatar or not". It just seems like a pretense for you to encourage him or give him positive reinforcement. Also, it was strange for you to butt in when you did as Riabi hasn't even posted yet, much less given an opinion on what Elyse or myself had said.
