I don't understand why everyone is working so hard to NOT vote BC. Everyone is saying he's scummy but won't vote him. I actually feel this more or less confirms him actually being scum.

To the contrary, I see a lot of people saying, "meh" on them and not taking a hard stance: even those who join the wagon. The people voting them don't care if they're actually lynched.

This is almost a surefire sign they are town. Which fits with my read there anyway.

Well, I can see why people think acryon can suspicious personally.

But my problem is that, you guys were suspicious of kuroi as well, and I was not. I am not even sure whom to believe at this point. Acryon definitely did seem suspicious with that post where he voted Kop but I didn't think much about it personally. After all, at that point kop was my no. 1 candidate and if I got support ... it's not that they will always be town, but I didn't become overly paranoid over it to keep my thoughts intact.

My strongest scum read is still Almost50, and Acryon is the one who started the wagon on him. I'm not really feeling the Acryon lynch.

– He launched the whole Almost-case (414) and started pushing us to join it
– His readlist in 725 was very vague and dropped a vote for Kop – an only lean-scum read.
– He kept calling players dumb (eg. 788), which I don't think I've seen from him before. Also, spreading doubts on everything (eg. on Almost, Davesaz)
– In 897, this:

"I was torn on BC, and I would still prefer a Kuroi lynch I think, but I'd go Burning Crystal. [...] Consider this an intent to push to L-1. Would actually do it but I have had several games recently with quickhammers, so I'd rather not. BC should claim."

– That vote never arrived. Also, intent to push? Wow.
– Quickvoting Kuroi, 906 and that "ugh" as a comment with the unvote in 928. (It reminds me the classic "well that sucks" scumtell)
– Generally speaking, his ISO contains much less useful content than we would imagine.

I know it won't work and I know in the end I'll end up voting for Burning Crystal again, even if I'm not as convinced about that as I was before. But I don't think I would like to lynch TexCat (reasons provided before) and I'm definitely unwilling to lynch Kuroi Today.
I'm still leaving this post along with the vote here for later references.

I questioned players on if they were "playing dumb", because it certainly seemed impossible to view RC's post in the context that they did. Like I said there are other issues with this post for sure, but want to clear that one up right off the bat.

Between texcat and bc, I would always go for texcat. BC has shown signs of towniness and my top town reads don't like her lynch that much.

A no lynch doesn't give us any better information, but if it's a fail safe idea then it could be useful. We will have power roles that can gain us information without a lynch. We've already pressed a wagon on Burning Crystal, then moved to Kuroi, who then hinted at something, we tried to go to Aycron, and now we're onto Texcat. I've been in a few games where we no lynched day one, but still went onto win end game.

These are wagons I'm not opposing of, but I don't want us to press wagons from one to another this late on, due to forcing role claims, etc etc.

It gives mafia a free kill, but not a choice of which PR they would like to kill.

The point I'm making is, we run up a few wagons this late on, and get them close to a lynch, they roleclaim to try survive, we then move onto the next and the chain continues. We don't want too many PR's out in the open due to rushing around trying to get lynches sorted, especially on Day One.

A no lynch keeps PR's in the dark, mafia have to plan there work on guessing, and we lose one.

I'm in a strong frame of mind that we stick with Texcat now, or we no lynch. I'd have preferred a Burning Crystal lynch, but that one stalled, and we moved on from that case. Texcat isn't a bad option to go with.

THE BURNING CRYSTAL case always confused me, I HAVE HIM IDEALIZED as TOWN because of the way he posts giving me that feeling but I DONT KNOW IF I CAN TRUST the same kind of feelings i get in TOWN OF SALEM as I CAN GET IN MAFIA SCUMMY... ALSO HE WAS MOSTLY INVISIBLE TO ME AFTER THE EAGLE BATTLE SO I DONT KNOW ANYMORE... but I AM STILL thinking he is NOT SCUM....

Yeah they would likely go there, but that's all they have. If we run another wagon up and they claim a stronger PR than Jailkeeper then it's not rocket science where they'd go.

There's only so many wagons we can run before we hit a VT or a CC. I think we've forced at least 1 scum into a bad claim. Removing a suspected VT is better than NL.

This wagon is probably the last one we have time for anyway.

Likely but not always.

And i've seen people get run up and claim VT in a generally obvtown way and pushed the lynch elsewhere but they still end up getting suspect later on in the game.

And equally i've seen scum claim VT at L-1 on D1.
