There are a couple running around. I don't know which ones Wake88 tried, but the one I've personally used is this one by Thesp. The FAQ page lists what you need to have in the opening post and what your players need to do in order to have their votes counted. As long as those rules are followed, Thesp's vote counter works well.In post 35, mhsmith0 wrote:What's this about an automatic vote counter? That would be super helpful for my upcoming mini normal.-

Ugh. This game.
Ascetic: Fire Assassin
Citizen: iraonavp, long_island_medium?
Innocent Child (unconfirmed): Accountant
Masonry: amalgam, Klingoncelt, RachMarie
Neighborhood: Blanche, Egg, RachMarie, +3 more
I'm assuming the other claims that were made were junk claims until evidence suggests otherwise. RachMarie seems to suggest that Fire Assassin is also in that neighborhood, but who knows?
Hot Chocolate is probably a mislynch.-

One of {cop, doctor, jailer, tracker} would be a fairly powerful claim, but it will not be enough to kill the momentum. There's enough players who would think that she was scum making a last-ditch fake claim that it wouldn't save her.In post 132, Wake1 wrote:It's one of the powers you'd see in a Newbie game.

You should check the votes before flipping because it's a big enough mistake to make the extra effort worthwhile. Players don't necessarily catch mistakes in vote counts; I know I usually take them for granted unless I'm already doing my own record-keeping.In post 165, Ircher wrote:That's the one thing I never do when I mod (and probably should): Check votes.
That said, players generally catch any errors that pop up and I practicaly never miss a vote. (More oftem.I forget to delete/update stuff in the VC rather than miss a vote)-

RachMarie accidentally outed herself in the neighborhood, which led to Egg calling her out in the game thread. People had already suspected RachMarie at that point, so she came out as a mason and claimed with (I think it was) Klingoncelt, who also had some people suspect her. amalgam confirmed. In post 200, Wake1 wrote:All three Masons were outed...?-

Boredom does strange things.
Citizen: long_island_medium
Masonry: amalgam, Klingoncelt, RachMarie
Motion Detector: Shaziro
Neapolitan: iraonavp
Neighborhood 1: Fire Assassin, MathBlade, Shaziro
Junk claims weren't included.
iraonavp investigated Shaziro (not vanilla).why
Cookie Bakers seems to imply being some form of alignment investigative (i.e., cop). Accountant claimed to have been blocked.
Okay. This game makes me want to tear my hair out,and I'm not even playing. VA-11 Hall-A blatantly ignoring Cookie Bakers's push on CCC, which is barely short of outright claiming a guilty result, to push a vanity wagon on Bacde bugs me a lot. Everyone else pushing iraonavp at least has a legitimate excuse to do so.

Oh, look, DrippingGoofball was not a citizen. What a surprise. long_island_medium is town, but I can definitely see that slot not being a citizen. The current vote count is an atrocity for the sheer number of vanity wagons on it.

Not necessarily. Seraphim's progression to hammer seemed quite natural, but it's not beyond him to fake that sort of thing well.In post 471, Blanche wrote:Oh shite does that mean the hammerer (seraphim) is part of that team? Thought he was town >.>

(1) It's not unreasonable to want players who sign up for your games to play them. Some moderators require thatIn post 607, Wake1 wrote:A few other things that are bugging me is the fact that Bellaphant and Aeronaut still haven't posted, or barely at all (just checked the Activity Overview: neither have posted at all). I'm thinking I should give both one final PM and, if they don't respond/play/DO SOMETHING I'm just gonna replace them. No offense, but if you join my game I'd like you to, you know, actually post and play. Is it that much of an asshole position to take to want players in your game to actually play? I don't want to come off like an asshole but it's already Day 3 and some players haven't even posted yet. If I'm not being reasonable or fair someone please show me the light.
Also, I'm still upset with Comparing Realities getting NK'd before even having a chance to post. I couldn't do anything about it without influencing the game. Is there any kind of rule addendum that can be put in place for future games? I just feel like it was a dick move to kill off a player replacing in before he or she could even post, because now I'M the one feeling guilty about it. I mean, you've got a player replacing out and someone asks to replace in, and wants to play, yet they get killed off. It just irks me. It's bothering me probably more than the player who got NK'd. Again, I want people here to check my position to see if it's reasonable or not.
Lastly, from this point on, I'm planning to give each and every player in my games a complementary PT thread to help keep track of the game. I figure if they have a PT to solidify their thoughts it will translate into posting less in the game thread BUT making the quality of those posts go up a bit. I think it's a good idea and can't really hurt anything.allplayers send a Night action, even if they do not have one, to confirm their interest in continuing to play for the following Day. Others have a policy of prodding all players who had not posted within 24-48 hours of the Night phase starting and requiring a response by the end of Night, as well. I'm fairly sure that Aeronaut and Bellaphant have been overwhelmed by the pace of the game and the relatively short Days, though.
(2) No. That's a risk that the replacing player takes when they accept a slot during the Night. Personally, I'm a little glad whenever this happens to me because it means that I don't have to catch up, but I can see how this is a waste of potential replacements. There's not much a moderator can do about this, unfortunately.
(3) If players need their own places to keep notes, they can ask you for a private topic (make it known if it's something you're willing to do) or use Notepad. The people who do this are in the minority if previous Mafia Discussion threads on note-taking are any indication.
You can do this in role PMs. If someone later tries to fake a claim of a self-protecting doctor, then that person can have all of the salt in the seven seas.In post 611, Wake1 wrote:Next game and beyond I'll include in the ruleset that PRs cannot target themselves.
