  3. You may not use hidden or encrypted text. I decide if the text is small enough to be count as hidden text.
  4. If you have a power to edit/delete your post, don't do it. If you scumslip, just accept it and eat rope.
  5. Play nice. Insulting players with using any form of racial/sexual slur or any kind of derogatory languages or excessive harassing in any way will result in immediate force-replacement.
  6. Do not EVER discuss the ongoing games in this thread nor discuss this game elsewhere, no matter how informative it is.
  7. Do not quote the PM that moderator sends you. Paraphrasing is fine till certain level. If you're not sure about it, you're always welcome to ask me first before you post.
  8. Do not use provable randomization in this game. Saying that you rolled a dice is fine, using dice tag is not.
  9. This is my color. (##00FFFF) Don't use it.

  10. If I find the certain factors/actions damaging the state of the game, I will intervene and/or take action.
  11. Keep the personal complaint, whatever they may be, outside of the wrong VC/information, private by PMing me.
  12. If you break these rules, I have full rights to punish you at my will. This can range from simple warning to modkill/force-replace.
  13. If I feel like it, I always have a full right to add/modify the rules. If I do, I will fully explain the reason behind such action.
  14. Most importantly, have fun!
Voting and Lynching:

  1. You give the chain by either using bold tag
    Vote:MariaR
    or using vote tag
    VOTE: MariaR
    .
  2. Unvote is not required to change your vote. Also, if it looks like a vote for someone, I will count it. No tricking me!
  3. A player is lynched when they're the only player to not get the chain, the lynchee and the living players may talk until I get back and post the flip.
  4. If part of the quiz group is lynched, the quiz fails.

  5. If the deadline is reached before the lynch has reached, the day will end with
    No Lynch
    .
  6. If you're nightkilled, you may post one information-less "bah" post.
Activity and Deadline:

  1. Deadline for each day is 2 weeks. Deadline for each night is 2 days.
  2. If you're on V/LA, please tell me beforehand by either post it in thread (bolded) or PM to me.
  3. If you don't post here for 48 real hours, I will prod you. Failure to receive prod within 24 hours or receiving a 3rd prod will cause force-replacement.
  4. If you do not submit an action before the day ends, it will count as
    No Action
    .
  5. If I have to extend the deadline, I will. If I do, I will post it on thread.

Set up Information:


Spoiler: The chain
1) One person will start with the chain and be the
'Chainleader'
they will pass the chain to another player and it keeps going until 1 person is left without the chain. That player is lynched and flipped.
2) The Chainleader will be bulletproof for the night and cannot be the chain leader on consecutive days.
3) The Chainleader will also nominate a group of players to go on a quiz. Players can vote to approve or deny this pairing. If the group is denied the chain leader must make a new team. If the teams are denied 3 times in a row the quiz is automatically lost.
YOU MAY ONLY VOTE TO APPROVE OR FAIL A TEAM ONCE PER TEAM


Spoiler: Quizzes
1) If a group is approved you will all be added to a neighborhood for that night only.
2) You will be given the information on what happens if you pass and what happens if you fail the quiz.
3) In the neighborhood, you will publically vote as a group on who you want to be the next chain leader
4) Privately you must pm me if you pass or fail the quiz. If you don't do this the quiz will automatically fail.

I've thought about the strategy to this game today and it is optimal play for town is to just hand the chain to whoever they are confident is town and is least likely to get a chain from someone else.

The person who holds the most power is the 2nd last person to hold the chain since they choose who dies,
if we get a pool of 3 people, 2 scum and 1 town 33% of the time scum lives, same odds occur if we get a pool of 2 town 1 scum
since 66% of the time we have a 50% shot of hitting scum. So getting a whole bunch of scum at the end of our pool hardly helps us win. And letting town control who dies is incredibly valuable.

We also want a somewhat random town player being 2nd last so we shouldn't just select a "2nd last town" to make the kill, we want a fluid game state that allows for people to have free will especially in the early game since information is more valuable then actually hitting scum day 1 and 2. You can't solve a lot of players without letting them make hard hitting choices and by just shoving choices down their throat we can't ever get a solid read.

I should not partake in quizzes, although I can freely be chainleader as they don't actually partake in quizzes which makes my NU not matter.

That's a good observation with the odds. I did the math and everything checks out. However, that is assuming everything is random. You can generalize it to if we have n scum and 1 town, scum has n/n+1 chance of living. As an exercise, maybe we can figure out the probabilities if there are two town. However, this is based off of everything being completely random, and I don't think our actions here will be random.

That's just how mafia tends to play out.

Ok so forget about everything but the final 3 players.
You have 3 comparably scummy players, what happens, you pick someone at effectively random right? And our odds show having 2 or 1 scum does not actually help us.

Scum being 2nd last gives them the agency to choose who dies which is pretty bad for town. So you want 2 comparably scummy players and 1 town player to hold the 2nd last chain. Since by choosing the last link they also choose who dies which in itself is a powerful position.

Do you follow what I am saying and what I think we should do now?
