so... anyone smart enough to calculate the winner?
I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”

The counter is to put two or three scum in the Colosseum from the start, but if that's a mainstream tactic it doesn't sound fun to me.
I've been thinking of ways to fix this problem since you posted it, and it just hit me that giving the scumteam a one-shot factional ability to shuffle the gladiator positions is enough to fix this.

I think that fixes all the remaining potential breaking strategies(?)

at the very least it's very hard to say that if scum falls into that same trap, the setup is to blame over their own play lol

so i ran the results through two online condorcet method calculators (assuming kerset's vote stays the same with ceejay's new setup and assuming ceejay votes for his own setup first) and it's a tie between The Gladiator's Colosseum and Names in the Box

if someone could check me on that that'd be cool

also now what

1
Marked Townie
(Is eligible for lynching at the start of the game)
6
Vanilla Townies

At the start of the game, only Marked players and the Immortal Duke are eligible for lynching. Each night, the Immortal Duke compulsively makes another player eligible for lynching.

The players that are eligible for lynching will be known at day start. Any votes on ineligible players will be discarded.

Nightkills happen as normal. The Mafia PT has daytalk.
Made this a 11p since the Immortal Duke is a trivially confirmable role. I will probably replace this due to low player agency.
In post 32, Alyssa The Lamb wrote:
The Gladiator's Colosseum
4 Mafia Vanillas

9 Town Vanillas

At the beginning of the game, the mafia select three players. When day begins, all of these players will be gladiated, meaning the lynch can only occur within those three players. At least one member of the mafia must be included within this initial deployment.

Each day phase, a lynch occurs as normal.

During night phase:
If town was lynched, the lynched town and mafia each select one player to be gladiated in the lynched town's place.
If mafia was lynched, that mafia must select one player to be gladiated in their place.

There must be at least one mafia in the gladiator ring at all times, but otherwise there is no restrictions on who either alignment may choose to throw in the ring.

Town wins if all four mafia are lynched.
Mafia wins if every living player is gladiated and at least one mafia is alive.

I believe I caught all the breaking strategies, but let me know if I missed any.

If my calculations are correct, scum need to mislynch 4 town to win while town need to lynch 4 scum.
In post 36, popsofctown wrote:
Crystal Rainbow
6 Townies

3 Vengeful Mafia

Each day before 50% of the deadline is reached, players must grow a crystal. The player chooses its color, and whether it is
townie
or
scummy
inside (town have little reason to choose the latter). There is
red
,
orange
,
yellow
,
green
,
blue
, and
violet
. Players can't grow crystals in a color they already have. Crystal color is public but crystal alignment is not.
Players cannot be lynched directly, but their crystals can be lynched. Lynching a crystal destroys it and reveals its alignment. When a
scummy
crystal is lynched all other crystals with the same owner are destroyed and the crystal's owner is lynched.
Crystal growth is mandatory, if a player forgets to grow a crystal, the mafia pick one matching that player's alignment to be grown.
Night zero and each night, instead of a kill, the mafia may choose a town player whose crystal grown that day will be hollow. Hollow crystals aren't counted towards win conditions. If they are lynched, it isn't shown that they were hollow, just
townie
.
The mafia wins when there is a
scummy
crystal of each color at the end of a night phase.
The town wins when there are two
townie
crystals of each color, owned by townies (townie crystals in mafia possession don't count for anyone, just like hollow crystals.) at the end of a night phase. Scum wins ties.

8

1
Town Vengeful Cop

Pregame, each gang nominates a player to be part of the lynchpool. Players may only vote for those players Day 1.
Nomination process repeats each night.
If the gangs nominate the SAME player, one random goon from each scum team will be the lynchpool.
Each scum team has a factional night kill
A scum team wins when other scumteam is eliminated and you control 50% of the town.

Vengeful Cop can investigate a player each night getting a result of "town" or "antitown".
If the Vengeful Cop is killed (by lynch or NK), they can take a vengeful shot.
Town wins when all anti-town threats are eliminated.
These are the setups i liked the most. I am a huge fan of multiballs, secret info, loaded lynch mechanics etc. Out of these, i think 1 and 4 are probably too easy/breakable. Setup 2 sounds very very fun, but like... too vanilla after d1, maybe? Setup 3 is also very interesting, maybe a bit too complex.

Overall, i vote for
Karnage's Innocent Bystanders

I wish i had time to propose my own, but right now i'm superbusy irl

Yea your math was correct. Although we got farkran vote, which breaks the tie in favor of The Gladiator's Colosseum.
Alyssa The Lamb won! Sorry that my poor organization drained 8 days out of May, i should have prodded people few days before the end of mouth. Maybe you wish to run extended challenge like february?

I will have the new thread up by today or tomorrow

Extended, maybe? I think it depends on how active the thread is

I might run my setup with the extra addition up above soonish, I want to see how it plays in actuality.
