Rumble 6 ShadowLurker wins, Flying Dutchman second

I'm going to mod a rumble game with 8 players.

Here are the rules. This game will be hero themed.

Front Matter

Discussion can occur anywhere, publically in thread, privately by PM or metaphysically by ESP or offline.

The order of bids will be determined, but not posted. Bids with constraints on thier order will be resolved accordingly. All other bids will be done in a random order. If a player does not have enough energy to make a bid then that bid is thrown out.

There will be a 7 day deadline for each round. Players that do not PM their actions will recieve 10 unblockable damage and use a default action of defending with half energy (round up) and not use the rest. This is preliminary and subject to revision after the list of powers is known.

I have offered previous rumble mods (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the first chance to join.

Super Powers

The Anti-Super Cape!
: Prevent all super powers starting with the letter "S" (Not counting the prefix "the" or "a") from effecting you for the entirety of the game.

Behold my True Form
: Spend X, once per game: Add X/2 to your Energy.

Cosmic Aura
: Each round, you may spend an extra 10 Energy per Hero currently in play.

Dervisher
: Your total attack and total defense are each increased by +10 per opponent.

Force Fields
: Spend X: Add either 2X to your Defense this round or X to your Defense next round.

Hulking Muscle
: Use once per game: Gain 50 Energy and tear your shirt open. For the rest of the game, you lose 5 Energy at the end of each round.

Kamikaze Sidekick
: Your Kamikaze sidekick will throw himself before attackers, and block the first 60 power of attacks each turn. If you are attacked for more than 60 points your Kamikaze Sidekick dies, and you must discard this power.

Lich
: When this Hero is defeated, discard this Power. They return to the game with 50 Energy and a random Power from the online archive.

Necromancery
: Spend 20: Any player or sidekick who dies during this round rises from the dead as an undead sidekick. Undead retain all skills and are controlled by the possessor of this skill. Undead have one quarter of the energy the player or sidekick had at the beginning of its first round of play. Undead cannot be healed in any way. If an Undead dies, it can not be raised again with this skill.

Overload
: You gain 10 Energy every round. If you exceed double your starting Energy, you explode.

Plastic Ooze
: Spend 10: Any Hero who Attacked you this turn cannot Attack next turn.

Pretty small
: You're not quite as big as one might think of a superhero. However, this has a good side: You can't be as easily punched by a big gang! If you're attacked by 2 or more heroes or sidekicks, the one that would do you the least damage can't reach you and won't do you any damage this turn.

Super Beam
: Spend 40. Attack someones energy directly for 50 damage.

Titanium Skin
: Prevent the first 50 damage you take during the game.

Vampiric Bite
: Whenever you damage another Hero, gain Energy equal to half of that damage (rounding down).

Weather Mastery
: Spend 10: Choose the weather. Weather remains the same until it is changed. Weather remains in the game even if the Weather Master dies.
  • Sunny
    : The Sun's rays revitalize you! Everyone gains 10 Energy at the end of the round
  • Cyclone
    : Watch out! Funnel clouds! All offensive powers are randomly targeted.
  • Thunderstorms
    : Lightening ahead! Every player has a 50% chance of being hit by lightening. If hit, the player loses X energy, where X is a random number between 1 and either 15 or their energy, whichever is lower.
  • Fog
    : Hard to see... Add 20 Defense to all players and sidekicks.
Cosmic Entity
: Each round, cosmic entitiy's energy is set to 10x the number of heros in play.

Powers are up in the second post. PM me the ammount you want to bid for each. Remember, you will lose energy equal to the total of your bids for everything you won.

Bids must be in within 7 days.

The Kamikaze Sidekick doesn't have energy, but blocks up to 60 each round.

Ex.
Round 1: Sidekick blocks 40
Round 2: Sidekick blocks 50
Round 3: Sidekick blocks 60 and hero takes 10
Round 4: Sidekick is dead and hero takes 40

There are undead sidekicks. Also kamikazee sidekick, but it doesn't have energy you can allocate.

I don't remember that being there, but it clearly is now.

Here is what I'll do. I'll come up with a random order for the items StD voted on. I'll take the bids in order throwing out new ones if it would make the total bids greater than 100. After that I'll reassign the powers that he didn't win based on the already submitted bids.

I'm kind of favoring mith's suggestion of just going with it as is. That was my interpretation from the beginning. I don't think that comment about "from your original energy" was in the rules page when I read it months ago. I'm at a loss of how to handle this fairly.

I don't want to be swayed completely by mith because he isn't in the game, but if someone wants to endorse what he is saying, I'll consider it more heavily.

Looking at previous games, overbids have been allowed and handled in various ways. I'm going to allow the overbids and since he did not win more than 100 he survives with all the systems.

Yes, cosmic entity can attack and defend. It it is reduced to 0 energy it is dead and won't be revived (though it could be raised by necromancy.) At the beginning of each round its energy is adjusted to be 10x the number of heros.

I made a mistake. Cosmic entities energy for this round is 50, not 70 as I originally posted.

Starting with this round, if three rounds go by without any changes to anyones energy I will declare the game a draw. The previous round will not be counted. Also, if anyone wants to send multiple round orders to me I'll do them automatically. That way if everyone sends them in we can play multiple rounds at once. You can qualify your future orders, like "if the only person to take damage this round is X then do Y next round."
