Man, I wake up, my team tells me things have begun and there's already 8 pages. Pls no.

Anyway, my team does blacklists. So I'll be writing one up sometime.

For now, I'll introduce myself. I don't really play forum mafia. But Flopz, Hectic and Hopkirk roped me into this because something something they needed 4 people to make a team. I'm just here to fill the numbers. But I do like and have a background of playing social deduction games in real life. Although posts are there forever (so no take backsies for scum) and can be analysed in depth, I kind of miss the real life visual/social interaction cues. Also great, I have no meta reads on anyone here. So I will be going in blind. I will try to read posts from past games to figure out whether there's a pattern of behaviour for certain players but I'm not sure I have the willpower to do that for everyone.

I was gonna make a joke about blacklisting all weeb/koreaboos. No matter. I'm pretty into anime. Top 5 anime are - Clannad After Story, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Fullmental Alchemist Brotherhood, Shin Sekai Yori, Eureka Seven. Maybe Attack on Titan Final Season will end up in there. I have high hopes for how that might end. Might be less active in the next week or so of the game - I've got a backlog of stuff to do in real life. However I'll be keeping an eye out on things. Blacklist incoming.

Wow im concerned now. I've never heard Dannflour's name in terms of playing mafia but ik they modded a lot. I expect better reads than this from them and you tbh.
When I saw this, I immediately started thinking that you were scum pushing Private and me. To be honest, I agree Private's post was scummy but it was also extremely LHF-y and from my experience, the mish mash mods can sometimes be full time LHF.

Noraa has played exactly one game with me. One game in which shellyc was both town and scum and I got shot due to a mod error on N2. Noraa herself says she doesn't know shit about Dann. And yet... I'm a strong scumread on the basis of BoP.

Despite this, there is like no effort put into convincing anyone that I'm actually scum.

You're right, it's less developed. It's based on her entrance on p1, and SirCakez picked exactly what I thought about her when she entered the game. Since it's a p1 read it's more of a gut read than a developed read, but it's stronger than what I have developed towards you or my other reads.

The important thing is, and that's why I said that I'm happy with my reads right now, at the end of the day, SPF can flip whatever, and SirCakez will still be town.

This is awkward in the sense that Gypyx's vote at the time was on Cheetory and not on MWB, but Gypyx presents his unvote as though he had suddenly become convinced to back off of MWB, even though

he had already

backed off of and unvoted MWB on post #609. I hate the way that Gypyx presents his choice to unvote Cheetory as actually being about MWB - it feels like he's trying to absolve himself of responsibility for his vote on Cheetory by deflecting to something completely irrelevant.

When I pair this with the fact that Gypyx proceeds to vote for Zaiden on #774, it gives off the impression that Gypyx is not actually invested in his solving and is more concerned with how his image is being perceived than he is with parsing the alignments of the people that he's interacting with. This isn't a slam-dunk case, but it's more than enough to make me want to put a lot more pressure on Gypyx

maria was already a universal TR when she made this post, so it's difficult to see the scum intent behind deliberately switching off of the wagon and the momentum that she singlehandedly created. the most simple answer is that her progression is coming from a town mindset

I've played a lot of games since I've come back from a decade long hiatus,

My playstyle is not the same as it used to be, I've more or less been experimenting.

I've try-harded and taken over towngames and forced wins when it looked very bad and I've slacked and lost.

Two of the town!games I've tried insanely hard in were: Chara's Folly and Micro 960.

Both of them ended in town losses where I got mis-elimmed - both of them are largely my fault for taking over when I should not have and causing things to be worse for everyone else involved.

Two games that recently finished - College Basketball Players and Temple of Legends, I was town and I took a much more relaxed and carefree approach to the game.

In both games I did not push a single mis-elim through - I deferred to people that I respected. We lost one and won one. On reflection I think I probably could've won CBP Mini if I had taken over the game state and forced out the last scum - but I don't think it would've been enjoyable for me or her to play in such a manner.

I am happier to do less because this game sometimes has too many egos. It's about working together to solve a problem, not being the loudest voice in the room and insisting that you absolutely have to be right.

I'm not saying that way is definitely a high win-rate than my old style but I feel it is definitely more enjoyable for me.

Tenet for example as you know was really a problem for the town because too many town-side players had strong opinions and were not really listening to each other - that led to the scum being able to take advantage and town cohesion never actually happened.

The scum that flipped suggests there's a doctor or some role that stop kills. They went the safe way and went for the second most obvious scumkill which is great in a game where there's probably a watcher that, if competent enough, targeted SPF and not me

i'd even say it suggest towards a roleblocking role, as using unstoppable kill instead of "strongman" means that spring's CFV shot could still have been blocked while using the unstoppable kill, and that is pretty much the only difference with a "normal" strongman
