When the pace of the game is insanely fast, it becomes that much harder to get town to come together since everyone's timeline of the game is distorted to different lengths.

And yet, of the 21 completed blitzes (I'm excluding Lawless, which was cancelled), 12 have been town wins: just about half, what would be expected. And even in the losses, at least four of them were close games where any faction had a chance of winning. (Though I also know at least two or three of the town losses were in setups that were explicitly scum-sided.)

It's definitely manageable. I quite like the Blitz format. It's actually going to feel painful now that there aren't any new blitzes for me to start playing with that much longer deadline. People have this silly habit of dragging games on to their two-week deadlines when you generally need less than half that for a productive day.

That's not necessarily indicative, though. My point is that town has a rougher time when there's a distinct difference in posting amount between the players, which is more noticeable in games with shorter deadlines since it attracts people that like to post fast and often more than people who only post 1-3 times a day. The latter, in these types of games, will see quite a few events in a single piece of the game's timeline since they're taking it all in at once, while the people who actually made those posts are seeing them in several moments in the timeline since they're the ones making the events unfold.

It makes people fundamentally see the game differently in a tier beyond just playstyle differences. It's harder to get people to work together in a function requiring trust without any inherent assurances that the trust will be warranted the more different they are.

The fact that town still has a roughly 50% win rate can either indicate that there are enough tradeoffs in the other direction (BROseidon gives a good example) or the activity isn't that different between players, which is a reasonable assumption based on who the queue is supposed to be for.

I fail to see how this is any different than your average game on MS. In fact, if anything, I think the Blitz queue suffered

from this than others. The amount of catching up I've had to do in 24 hours for a Large Theme is ridiculous. In that same time frame, I would never have trouble catching up in a Blitz.

And I do speak as someone who only posts 1-3 times a day. For my troubles, I admit I have (multiple times) been called a lurker, to my chagrin. Yet I still managed to provide the same amount of content as more "active" players, with comparable posts numbers.

I literally won because a replacement couldn't read the game quick enough, and I couldn't use my plan of faking a cop guilty on my partner so I could win because someone else did it and then they got dayvigged. Also I had to shoot Luna twice and gave her the dayvig used to kill my partner with the first one
