You feel a lot more authentic, genuinely annoyed but also curious and wanting me to explain more about why I'm doing 'optimal strategy' - it interests you because you're town.

It doesn't interest gameplay because he doesn't want people to be playing optimal strategy. Scum hate it when I do this because it forces a dichotomy they simply cannot avoid. They either sheep me or they go against me, and either one draws attention. They either need good reasons to go against me (and there are none right now because it's so early) or good reasons to go with me - but then I'm forcing them to play a good town strategy, so they naturally rebel. This is why I'll probably be NK'd early this game because I'm always NK'd early as town because scum just hate me.

I'm like those diet pill Google ads that say, "DOCTORS HATE HIM!!!" except I'm a mafia player and instead of doctors it's the scum that hate me.

Why I changed my vote? Dierfire is in my top-4 and it is time for a wagon. L-2 doesn't bother me in this set-up. If scum want to hang themselves by quickhammering, that's a-ok by me. Gameplay had been defending himself for a while. I'm still ok with lynching him today, but it's early still. We're not yet seriously lynching anyone, just seriously voting.

Referring to her read on 236. Her read on Dierfire is town, Which is I don't blame her if she's town reading her. But imo, It makes me suspect her.

I first noticed this when looking for all the votes on the gameplay506 that Martha flip flopped more than a pendulum so they have voted for 3 different people over the game so far (24 hours ish) however they did so in a peroid of around 4-5 hours. ignoring the RVS then we still have them firstly sheeping rb with a post that literally added nothing pretty much joining the train to 'see what happened' and there posts havn't partially inputted. now this is early but given there 2 serious votes over 24 hours and joining the train with what I believe is the weakest reasoning they are who I believe to be most likely to be scum. however, it is still early day 1 and I understand that this may change later however, until then I believe that Its time to vote. this isn't to say that others should vote for her unless they also believe this.

Sure they may contradict each other, but honestly I think Martha just isn't very clear in the way she expresses her views. Every other post of hers I find myself confused.

Your vote put gameplay at L-2 with little reasoning besides you feeling that rb is town and that would somehow make gameplay more likely to be scum. In Mini 1800, you were a lot more cautious about committing to a vote, instead choosing to give your full thoughts on most of the early posts that game before actually casting your vote. I'm not sure that you actually thought that the gameplay wagon was a good start, given that a good start vote for you is usually backed up by more evidence than "x is town therefore y is scum."

I'm not sure I agree with that assessment. If Naomi chooses to announce that her play-style will be open, wouldn't it hurt her as scum to do so? Scum don't want to announce that they'll play a certain way, for fear of being caught out if they veer off that play. Do you disagree?

I think Naomi is likely town here. I don't really see the point of so much WIFOM from her, as it introduces unwanted attention unto her. Sure, she could be doing some crazy reverse psychology play, but that requires a lot of assumptions, and Occam's Razor would laugh at me for that.

Ryan is someone who seems to be all over the place. His drastic vote changes feel like him throwing things at a wall and hoping they stick. 308 especially looks bad because I don't see what a vote there does to stir discussion, exactly? Can't you just ask the question on it's own? Slight scum read.

I like rb's 228. I agree that some plan is better than no plan. Again, initiative is usually townie, and the fact that rb keeps consistent with that thought process(explaining his plan, why it was good or bad, etc.) gives me a strong town read on him. Also, yes, he clearly sees why the votes on Naomi are silly.

Golden said that his suspicion of Dierfire became more solidified when I chose to vote Dierfire for similar reasons as him. I really don't like that. @Golden:Where does peer pressure end, and sheeping begin? Null for now.

Gameplay's case on Ryan seems to have merit, especially the point about dumb-telling, which also pinged me. I didn't like his aggressiveness towards rb early on though, it seemed superficial. His read on rb seems ok, but not great. I want more elaboration on that. @Gameplay: what about newbscum suggests they can't be active scum-hunters? Null for now.

Cass' 298 comes off as trying to force a town-bloc with the more active players and feels like shade being thrown towards the lurkers. Earlier in 272 he said that people probably hadn't picked up their role pm's yet so it probably means nothing. If it means nothing, why even point out that those players could be the scum team? Inconsistent thinking. Slight scum read.

Pitoli is active, asks a lot of questions(particularly like 348), and views things from both sides before going further with it. Strong town read.

Not sure about Martha atm tbh. I'll revisit this later.

Chuck's reasoning to scum read Naomi doesn't seem very strong. Like, I understand WHY her vote/unvote of Cass might look like an empty gesture, but I don't really think it suggests that she's bowing down to Cass' demands or wishes. Seems like she was just trying to prove a point. Most of Chuck's catch-up posts don't really say anything besides a scum read on Naomi. I want him to talk about other things besides Naomi to help me form a more accurate read. What did you think of the gameplay wagon? What about Dierfire's wagon?

Why I changed my vote? Dierfire is in my top-4 and it is time for a wagon. L-2 doesn't bother me in this set-up. If scum want to hang themselves by quickhammering, that's a-ok by me. Like, I think something like 3 wagons(feel free to correct me on this) have happened so far, and so I don't see how something like that can't happen purely by coincidence. @pitoli: is it more the timing of their votes or the reasoning that felt too similar? Or both?

It's a little bit of both, but mostly the timing makes me think Martha is very conscious of momentum shifts on any wagon, and that she joins or leaves based on what she feels like is the general thoughts/consensus of town at the time (so big possibility that Cass is town). She's either a very easily-influenced townie or scum with a reason to be riding those shifts in momentum. I think what first pinged me was the fact that Martha was so nonchalant about sheeping Cass onto the gameplay wagon (their words not mine, see below). It didn't really read to me like they were asserting pressure onto gameplay - they just wanted to wagon. Note that she doesn't really say anything about Cass's alignment before being very happy to sheep. Isn't that off?

Rereading Gameplay now, makes me feel he is town. Ryan not so much. Yes, he votes often and not carefully, but note it's never on serious wagons. In a way this way of playing only makes it seem like he is doing a lot, when really he is doing very, very little. He seems to interact with people, but really those interactions are extremely low on content and impact in all cases. On later day, we will have basically nothing to look back on from him. It's a tactic that would work out quite well for scum.

I still want to lynch Martha. I don't really see how everyone read her reactions to my accusations as town-motivated. All of her wagon movement up till that point didn't read like an innocent townie sheeping. That's my gut. I've never really had a problem with confbias before but sure I could be making a mistake.

I can probably be convinced on gameplay based on their posts in isolation. But for that to happen, you have to be town. And you've been slowly sliding down to nulltown for me.

Having a really strong scumread =/= tunneling. The fact is that the things I scumread gameplay for he hasn't addressed adequately and that he is just being more scum about them as well.

It's not like I haven't given a lot of my thoughts on interactions in the rest of the game, so this isn't even remotely tunneling. I know I've interacted with just about every slot on some level (time permitting) and have given reasons for my reads on every slot. Maybe you think I'm tunneling because my scumread is strong, but that's just silly.

I swear I've answered that question twice now. Yes scum might hammer, but it could also just be a scum wagon. Being that it was early day1 and the wagon went so fast, I felt really bad about it - but I actually like most of the players if not all the players who were on the wagon (I forget exactly who). If you look at my posts, I start pressuring a lot of the people from the first gameplay wagon - because I want to know why it went so fast, it seemed scummy.

I got off because yes it could have ended in a quick mislynch and also because the way the wagon formed looked scummy - so gameplay wasn't my top scumread.

Glitch isn't my top scumread so I don't necessarily disagree. He's still scum imo but not my most favoured lynch.

Yes my defense of Ryan probably looks weird but I'm much less concerned with my appearances than I am with trying to get the town to lynch what I think are actual scum. I could be getting blindsided here and Ryan is really just scum but I seriously doubt it.
