we shouldn't speculate if it's one in which or any other combinations and we should treat the neighborhoods as NAI, but knowing what powers is in each one makes it so that we have control over those powers as a collective, while we could have e.g. a certain power in hands of a 2/3 scum hood, they kill the towny in it and run the thing wild alongside their factional powers. this is just an example. we could ofc have a 3-town hood where claiming the powers wouldn't benefit us, but the safest route seems to be claiming everything from the get go.

that's just my 2c and I can be convinced otherwise ofc.

My first thought would be - if I were to argue that we shouldn't discuss this stuff - "no, we shouldn't talk about this because we could leak info to scum."

Then I realize that the 1 scum per 3 out of the 4 neighborhoods could be a thing and they're already informed about 3 out of the 4 factional powers.

So, that's kind of a moot point since the town's the one left as the uninformed at this point if scum are spread out amongst the neighborhoods. Plus, they have day chat, so it's more than likely they've already told one another who's inside each hood and what power each hood offers.

If I've understood the setup correctly, we vote for factions secrelty.

Meaning townies only know 1 power. And are likely to vote for their own faction instead of voting for an unknown power.

So if there is a scum split among the neighborhoods, scum will coordinate and vote for the best power for them. While townies will likely end up with roughly even splits among the factions.

We probably should know all the powers before end of day so that we can make an informed vote.

Think the winning world wins via majority or whomever has the most votes? There's an RNG mechanic the Mod will use if there's a tie, so I'm thinking whomever has the most votes.

The chances of scum, obviously, become higher if the town hoodies vote for scum on accident. In other, slightly more positive news, we have to publicly vote for our candidates - meaning that scum can't stack two votes against the others.

Gonna reevaluate my Penguin theory later, but my FA_Q2 vote still stands. In any case my hood has 4 people, which means it has a higher chance of containing 1 or 2 scum in it. I dont think scum are necessarily spread 0/1/1/1, it's possible scum are randomized, but in both cases my hood most likely contains scum than not, so since scum has this info already anyway, my hood is composed of: me, anony, dunn and moment.

Second, BuJa claimed with this stuff below:

So without saying what it is our power is most beneficial if it is used on the 4 person group and if all 4 members of the group are alive.

So while statistically your group has the highest chance of containing scum, it would serve town more to lynch there after our group's power is used and I believe my neighbors would agree.

Though the earliest we'd be able to benefit is day 3 which might be too long to wait.

I followed up with a claim as to what our hood powers do:

In our hood, we can vote for someone to become an anonymous town leader with special powers.

Popo came in with his claim 446, but he only claimed his hood members.

Here's how I came to assumption that BuJa and Tora were from different hoods. First, BuJa claimed his power was beneficial if used on our Hood. When Tora was posting, I asked him what his hood powers were - which is where BuJa and FA are making their case (pulling up BuJa's case) - and he said that that hood's power is "bad". In his reply to my question, Tora asked for permission from his Hood members and said his hoodies might be mad at him for revealing that info. I took that 'my hoodies are gonna be pissed at me' and the asking for permission as a sign Tora was in a separate hood from BuJa since he wouldn't have felt the need to ask for permission, or muse on his fellow hoodies giving him crap about it, if his supposed hood mate - BuJa - had already claimed in the thread.

Frankly I thought that was a joke. I needed the VC to know he's actually a double-voter.

But that doesn't answer my concern. I'm beginning to think you're playing dumb to shrug it off.
Tora suggested we claim faction powers. He didn't himself though until after you asked him in 609. You wouldn't ask unless you think he has a different one than mine. Because you know the members of your faction and popo declared the members of his faction, you know he's either in mine or the 4th faction. But you wouldn't need to ask if he is in mine unless you think I'd lie about it.

I don't normally believe in scumtells but damn it this sure looks like one.
