Like, just the byplay we had back and forth felt natural(in a sense) and didn't make me feel like it was a scum push.
It's just gut but multiple reasons
1. I don't think scum would put them out that hard knowingly pushing Town and not knowing what other people would think, it feels a bit... should I say... dangerous(!)
2. Just like the tone and Interactions gave me a good feel

Option 1:

We force the scummiest players in the game to dance with another scummy player, so if we decided to lynch we can get 2 birds with 1 stone, or get them killed at night if there would be any town killing roles.
The towniest players wouldn't dance with anyone, to prevent other people from dying if they are killed. I have another option for this but will be option 2.

Basically this option increases the kill potential for town, and could solve the game faster and kill more scum

Basically this option is good for PoE. It preserves the life of the towniest players by making it risky for scum to kill them, and later-game we will have townier players alive to help solve

But you are missing the different mechanic in this game to most games with your argument.
Lynching 2 people a time with the possibility of having scum as a favoured townie. I can ensure that that more people than not keep their narrow vision on opinion over a player.
In a normal game 3 lynches on town might not end up terrible. This game, 3 lynches on town only (meaning 6 people dead by your idea) means a game loss. So yes, it's 100% different to every game that doesn't deal with Lovers or mechanics a like.

What good is reading all dance PT's?
Almost 90%+ of the time, there will be a town in the dance PT anyways, so why do you need to read them?
And what's so good about being able to shut down the PT?

This role is negative utility if Town, and strong utility if mafia.

1) the gladiate between TGP and AP
2) me thinking TGP is just scum

The role itself is not good for Town, and won't be able to confirm itself tonight either, so the same arguments will be coming out tommorow too

Shutting down a PT as town would mean that Scum don't have a night PT and need to rely on the dance to join together. But if that was the case then it's way too over powered as a town role as Scum would be inclined to do this.
I couldn't see anything about PT Scum night in setup either.

Another reason why I don't think this is a town power, this setup is Scum sided.
Having the ability of having 2 lovers who can't communicate is so good for them. If 2 town people end up reading each other as town then they are basically masons with the possibility of powers. This would be the Scum counter to this.

Game mechanics says all game-related threads remain open at all times, save for this thread (due to Night phases). This means scum have daytalk and can communicate at all times.

Therefore, scum have no reason to dance with one another. And I think they’ll go to lengths to prevent it, because they do become Lovers for that Day and Night. I find it interesting that they

After tgp's flip I am less certain how we are supposed to strategize here. I think based on what we know it is still best to keep townies unpaired and ask scumreads to only dance with other scumreads.

Lovers, usually, is primarily negative utility and pts should not make up for that.

I think that's still right... and actually tgp's role makes me think it may be more true. Say there is a pt cop--the neghborhood would then actually be doubling down on negative utility on top of the lover's mechanic.

I'm not sure pt cop is likely here, but I guess I'm trying to figure out why tgp would be able to close a pt as a pro-town role.

I would rather pair him with Koki though. Koki's EoD was extremely bad. He even voted TGP after TGP had claimed and it looked like the tide may change against his lynch (I unvoted, Slaxx was advocating a switch to me or to No Lynch .. etc.) and his only justification was "we have 8 hours left".

I'd also FoS Eragon to a lesser extent for voting TGP after the claim, but I have never once correctly pegged Eragon correctly, so I'll just shut up.

So whats the point of having another town being able to read the PT? and shutting down a PT makes no sense why thats important(the only thing is breaking up the lovers but thats still not "super strong and powerful")
Thats the main reason i thought it felt forced-- because it didn't have the utility that he implied, and it felt to me like he was just trying to self-preserve himself to use his role for scum.

1. Slaxx - frankly im having trouble articulating a read here. I just in general feel like they are +town.
5. AP- im leaning scum here both because of PoE and because of multiple posts. I dont like them suggesting ANOTHER dance of me/eevee, as we've already danced, so that shouldn't be happening, and it wont happen. Their post about lab/red/aronis(i think this was the scumteam) could easily be rule of 3's...
6. EeveeLution Army - i still like their tone, but frankly im worried just because of PoE. I think they got soft-spewed town from Redtea's sheep of Labrat for scumreading Eevee though.

13. Darkwing Duck- town, probably my strongest read here. One of the(not the only reason) main reasons i townread them is that they chose to extend the day. The leading wagons were moment/kokichi, and they werent an active presence in the thread(if i remember) at the time, and they hopped on to extend the day. Scum here would just not.. appear, and let koki or Moment be lynched anyway. Yes, the lynch ended the same, but it could have gone very differently.

Im never dancing with Slaxx because, again, i think they are town, if there was a way to protect ourselves i probably would tho.

If im going down, I'm 100% dancing with AP.

Frankly, i dont trust anyone enough to blind sheep here. The only person im strongly confident in is DwD, but even thats not 100% for me.

Since there's no way I can read the rest (pg 21 or so) in 20 minutes, I'll mention I'm going to keep my NL status. It has been demonstrated a few times already that not everyone has read the setup properly, and it is D1. Think he just kind of fucked up in general here. For AP(A50?)'s case, more likely he was trying to get things going in his own way and didn't even expect TGP to decline. I don't SR read him at this point and actually think a NL is best. Would be a shame to throw away his brand of scumhunting so early.

Just more game mechanic talk, but I think the ideal number of pairings is 0 or 2. 3 if there's a particularly strong SR that people want to pair up instead of lynching, for whatever reason.

This post feels + scum equity with AP. Red just like, decides to ignore the whole thing with "I dont SR him rn, and think NL is best" and a reason is "would be a shame to throw away his brand of scumhunting so early." which just... really doesnt feel Scum -> town.

What I was going to say before is Aronis hasn't posts enough for me to seriously consider dancing with him for any reason. Currently, I think it seems weird to be so bluntly uninterested. Scum would probably at least try a little.

Eeveelution and/or (mostly or) Eragon
Should be more concerned of being a target of scum. Eragon didn't make the dance offer right away. He suggested it, then they took the time to decide who should initiate. If they don't scum read each other, why would they dance and make themselves a target for scum? Why didn't they think about it more, or consult the rest of the players?
Is one of them sure they won't be killed? The only way it makes sense otherwise is if one of them strongly suspects Slaxx/Mcqueen is PR and is trying to draw the NK away.
Eevee of course is a little more suspicious here for not even being wary of offer.

I also still stand by the "one of the more active posters is scum" thing. The general reads do seem to be skewed towards lurkers (including mine), negatively, so I wonder if attention is being diverted from elsewhere. But that sounds like a D3 conversation.

Well, now he's trying a little more. So once again, I don't know what to make of him. Whether it's just not knowing what to do about the game or he's now posting out of scum-obligation. If I tried to dance with him he would probably reject it, but that's not a reason not to.
If I were to get lynched, I'd dance with one of my (kind of) scum reads (both of which are unavailable until tomorrow) at least to try to draw something out. So failing that, probably Moment, though I'd almost certainly lose the duel.
Dancing with Aronis in that situation might as well be a scum claim.

My "loose" thoughts are if Vedith (who is

) somehow flips scum there's a good chance one of TGP/redtea is his p (rule of 3, excluding myself bc I already know I'm town. For you it should be one of TGP/redtea/AP). However, the inverse is not at all correct, meaning if readtea/TGP flips scum Vedith is in fact still likely Town.

So, I offer to pair with TGP, and hopefully he accepts, and we probably get lynched or NK'd (the NK depended on who else was paired with whom, if any). 2 "suspected" slots resolved.
I didn't see him rejecting, because -as you pointed out- he was advocating "the need" for those PTs. His rejection not only denies him (if town) a chance to sort me better, but also forces a lynch on one of us (if he's town that was a really bad move). In fact, even if he SRs me he should have still accepted. (Actually my whole lackluster play was in waits for someone to offer me a dance to accept).

As for you question about Aronis, I explained it and I honestly doubt I can do a better job here, but I will try. Aronis wasn't present in the game earlier. He had just started reading AFTER I had offered TGP the dance. Even if he SRs me and TRs TGP, voting me at this particular point means IF RGP accepts he is effectively voting his TR as well. If TGP is null to him, then he wants to see if TGP accepts or declines to form a better read on him, i.e. he still doesn't vote me yet. The only way he votes at this very situation is if he knows in advance that he won't be voting TGP by voting me.

But why didn't he wait? Because he knows he will be asked to explain why he voted the person who offered over the one that rejected the offer. It was better -from his PoV- to find a reason to be on that person BEFORE the rejection to justify his vote. Someone who had virtually not caught up doesn't decide to cast a vote on precisely the one person who had just offered to dance on someone without waiting to see the outcome or even questioning that person as to why they offered the dance to their chosen target. It all doesn't make sense from a town PoV no matter how you try to slice it.

this post can be indicative of McQueen being a partner, with the "probably town" when there was absolutely nothing speaking about this before

I think the setup was fairly balanced.

I think if town used it correctly though it could be townsided. I read your post in the spoilers thread and agreed with basically all of what you were saying.

If town had been organized, it could have gotten two lynches per day and two pro-town NKs. I even tried to sell that strategy in the thread to try to get a hold of the reins as town leader but either people didn’t trust me or didn’t like the concept of turning it into double day.
