Okay town, it's time to get serious. After carefully reviewing the Mephistophanes 39 wagon, I've determined that it's nonsense. I can't say for a certain fact that he's town, but he's definitely not mafia. The wagon being built on him is clearly designed by relatively intelligent scum getting bad towns to sheep them. If you're town, you need to get off of it now. I haven't lookd into the RC wagon in the same detail, but at first glance it appears to be the same. Now, given this, I can conlcude with a high degree of probability that the mafia has day chat.

I can also TELL you that ORIGINALLY, just like THIS time, Mephistophanes's posts were left ambiguous as to whether they were Nancy or Aristophanes, aside from rare instances such as this one. All of posts like 51, 59, 60, 83, 84, 108, 109, 115, 119, 120, and 151, we NEVER learned if they were Nancy or Aristophanes because they never clarified even though this was something which should've been ALIGNMENT-INDICATIVE. Would you say that in context of your slot's entire trajectory, it does not look quite strange? =)

An lolwagon by itself for RVS is not strange, but it would be quite easy and low risk to begin a wagon and see if it will gain traction due to the early state of the game! The part that is most relevant to me, however, is that it looks innocent enough on the surface to not be suspicious if the wagon does indeed take off and the paranoia begins. In addition, Aristophanes later posted that the game has had too much joke content for him to parse effectively, followed by you later coming in and trying to defend the initial vote when it garnered suspicion! =)

Add those three together, and you get quite an interesting picture, indeed!

Yes I understand this but Ari does these things. Would I ever have started/agreed to this lolwagon on RC? No but you know how much I despise RVS, so I just told Ari I was overgamed and exhausted and I would get more involved later.

However, what I went “full tilt” about was the part about “purposely ruffling RC’s feathers”, because that clearly never happened because Ari very clearly called it a “lolwagon”.

I adore Ari but he very frequently gets wrongly scumread with good reasons. I kept discrediting Nimueh townreads in NSG's game even though I was never confident enough to go after her because intellectually her response to GL could have been a SvS interaction even though she didn't feel scummy. Same goes for Ari who I have accurately gutread over a very large number of games and only once screwed up on when I decided to abandon my gut read and "think" that he was town b/c he was posting too much to be scum.

I think I, for one, naked vote more as town than as scum. As town my attitude is "I'll do what I want, idc what people think" whereas as scum I don't want to be put on the defensive.

Just because town always HAS a reason for voting (and this is true of scum too, although it's not always true that scum have a reason they'd be willing to share) doesn't mean they'll always SAY it.

I honestly can’t tell with Roster but in general, I think a bad reason looks scummier than a naked vote, if that’s what you’re asking me. That’s why I read naked voting as NAI/proscum because it’s extremely easy for scum to hide behind. If they instead say they’re sheeping, then it’s still technically a reason because they’re backing up another player’s reason.

If it’s done for reaction testing otoh, I would be more inclined to tr that. I tend to tr reaction testing in general because it’s usually town motivated.

RC has done that to me before but this time he just seems to be straight up pushing me without ever engaging me, which worries me a bit, because the last game he did that to me, he wasn’t trying to actively get me mislynched.

its something weird that u always find with people who think they are good, and its honestly the towniest thing i can see from Nancy because Nancy scum did last time was continually repeat "I DONT UNDERSTAND YOUR READ" and when explained would go back and reiterrate.
