It's something I'm not sure I agree that people actually do -- I know that I usually don't and I think at least some players are like me in this -- but hitogoroshi and I have had a number of fun arguments about it (and I actually mean fun, that isn't sarcasm and he's a treasure.)

I feel like I do this as scum more than town though. What were the reasons discussed that town would specifically do this?

A brilliant scum player can do all sorts of "towny" stuff and yet be scum, agree? That's sorta what he's getting at, I believe. He's saying that what constitute AI behaviors for him as town are beyond his awareness of them, since if he knew them, those behaviors wouldn't be AI. Perhaps he could've answered about what towny things he's done so far instead, but I think he'd just say "nothing" in response to that.

I disagree immensely of the points that TH used to scumread SirCakez. However, SirCakez is meekly backtracking things lately (like last 3-4 pages). That gives me pause about declaring him town right now. The far side read is a perfect example of what I mean.

For my Mastina read, I am not sure about her anymore. Her play does not remind of town!mastina I have personally seen or her play in TM2020. However, I have bigger fish to fry.

Setup spec is like the best thing that I do. If RC is town, and I am townreading him here, then his neighbor is probably town. It makes sense for there to be cross game stuff and neighbors seems like the perfect use of that. If it is just one neighbor, I think that is basically a conftown hood. It would help the PoE for me in my game because then I can focus my attention on the person not in the hood
