Hi everyone!

I am "Happy Unbirthday Boon" but in this game I will be signing as -Entrapta, and I believe my hydra partner will be signing as -Scorpia or something to that effect.

[Happy Unbirthday Boon is listed by "it" by I will accept both "it" or "she" as pronouns for this game since I am roleplaying Entrapta and know people can lose track of hydra pronouns.]

This is a game of 26 players. 20 Tenet Operatives (the town) vs 6 Sator Operatives (the mafia).
The game is split into two public timestreams of 13 Operatives each. Operatives may only post and vote in their respective timestreams. Temporal posting violations will be issued warnings at first. If the incidents continue, stronger measures may be taken.

First, 6v20 is slightly scumsided. I feel like town should have some significant power to make up how intrinsically scumsided this setup is? Additionally given that both town flips occur simultaneously and scum get 2 kills each night?

the setup confirms that scum have the option of being 3-3 or 4-2. On day 1 I don't think this makes a big difference, but I think this makes a *big difference* in the scenario where we get a scum flip in either game. So towns can do whatever in regard to turnstiles until there's a scum flip, but there should be a coordinated change once we hit scum in one of the games.

Additionally, I should say that our role has a conditional negative utility modifier that would come into play should we be put into a purple room, so for that reason I'd like us not to be purple roomed.

the problem is that we can only turnstile *once* before the other thread is forced to turnstile

so, theoretically we don't know how scum approached the setup. They might have wanted to dominate one thread with the 4 man team or they might have wanted to play it safe with a 3-3 split.

But *we should play* as though scum are dumb and did a 4-2 split. So if we hit scum in one thread, we should *turnstile the scummiest person* after that to the other thread, and then the other thread should stop turnstiling until it is confirmed there are still scum in the thread.

But yes we should absolutely be playing 'both threads' on the assumption that we we can actually fully eliminate scum from one thread and get like a massive mechanical townblock lol

As the timestreams move into the days already experienced by the opposing timestream, Operatives who died in those phases will return to life for one day only. Operatives return on the day matching the phase number they died in (so if someone died night 2 in the forwards timestream, they would return in day 2 of the inverted timestream). As these Operatives are only temporarily returned to life, they have limits upon them. They may not vote or use roles, and may only post 25 posts, each limited to 200 words. As well, they can only post in the timestream they are returning to - not the merged timestream.

just to make sure we're clear, these rules do not change at all for hydras? and what is the punishment for minor infractions (like accidentally hitting 201 words or something)?

In theory it'd be nice if one of the two threads could decide to only turnstile its towniest reads and the other thread could turnstile its scummiest reads but I don't know there's any way to actually execute that level of coordination without being able to talk to people in the other thread directly

I agree that we should be turnstiling our second scummiest slots in our thread (after the slots we plan to flip), and it'd be nice if the other thread turnstiled their towniest slots in response so we could keep up that pattern but

Yeah, the numbers give Sator the ability to choose how they manipulate the game state. The obvious 'best' choice is a 3-3 split given the way the mechanics work, which means they can try to manipulate the reads of the game for when things go back to combined by gambiting on a 4-2 split to screw with us

By the end of the game that ability to choose will really F with our reads probably

The reason why I'm mostly against mech talk is because I think mech talk is very easy for scum to be involved in. Mech talk is less tonal and takes way less effort than say, having a read on someone. You can sit here and talk about mech all day and make it sound somewhat appealing. I'm fine with it dependent on the read of the individual leading/suggesting it, but that remains a slight struggle

this is fine and all but this game has some very involved and distinct mech mechanics and I think it's unhealthy to totally ignore it until the games have decided that it's too convoluted to have a consistent strategy for

also, 'turnstiling' people is an important part of mech and the thread will be less meaningful/readable if turnstile votes are being done for radically different reasons with no discussion

if we can kinda soft agree that 'turnstiling' in this thread is 'second top scumread' then that can actually help us keep track of reads a little easier I think?

Right now most of us over here think you have more scum over there. Do you agree with this consensus? I have seated paranoia especially in light of this, where I feel like one of the players you would feel comfort in have potential to be scum. There's nothing exactly there to like, fully develop a case on though. That isn't my intention either. A case in the sense I would have more to talk about in terms of what they're posting. The feelings I get is certain things I'm unable to put into decent words right now.

I think a few people interpreted my earlier comment to imply I think there's more scum over there, but I still think the most likely scenario is actually a 3/3 split--I just definitely do not think *this* thread has 4. I do think we should play like the game is a 2/4 split since *if* scum tried to run the gambit we should punish them for it, but really I think scum would probably recognize that the risks of a 2/4 split by endgame outweigh the wifom-related pros.

Basically I think it's 3/3 or 2/4, but not 4/2 (our thread/their thread)

the likelihood we actually fully clear a thread by day 2 is pretty low, but that doesn't mean that we don't try because if by some chance we succeed we would be very close to immediately winning the game by simply winning one thread, and there's literally no reason not to go for that given the setup is otherwise on paper scumsided (so far at least, before we know much about PRs)

Why thank you! This was a very pleasant message to catch after a long day today. Let me just say that I really love playing with you two, as either alignment. I remember having a theory that GX and A50 were both town, and I'm considering two theories, one of shelly/bell T/T and one of shelly/bell T/S and have been discussing those alignments a little bit in my PT. But I need to decompress my brain and review notes before going more into detail there. I will say subjectively neither of our heads has been super impressed by Bell's shelly case and I was actually townreading bell more when I thought his shelly push was like a jokey shitpost, and now that it seems more serious it's harder to wrap my hair around. What if we eliminated A50 + pisskop, launch Spiffeh/Shelly/Gypyx?

So for me, one of the things that most struck me in Sirius's early game was that he wrote 47 so fast in response to my 43. Like I was basically fleshing out the exact same plan as him in 47 and he basically ninja'd me, and that really impressed me in his early game. And I've also noticed that other people who liked this plan have basically been more or less trying to keep to it (i.e. gx) and even those who want to go seem pretty okay with it (spiff)

so for me the trajectory from early game to 914 just feels kinda weird to me because it seems like Brian used a very hyperbolic reaction to sirius's presentation of ('our'--I know Sirius ninja'd me so it's more accurate to say 'his' even though my ego doesn't want to do that) plan, "genius" only for him to within just a few rl days kinda cave to 'let's launch people who want to go'

it just feels off to me, and some of his tone in other posts makes me feel nervous but that's more abstract and harder to articulate. He's definitely the most townread player I'm concerned with atm so if I'm just wrong here I'd like to get that sorted out sooner than later.

I guess I'm still struggling to think of best use of purple room as far as hoods go, I feel like there has to be some other mechanic for it (maybe purple roomed players can't be killed like in some of the MBOS variants?) and if we're using it as like a 'doc' more than a hood the I'd approach it differently
