And I feel like he's actively engaged in the thread where as scum he might be a little more reserved and insecure around players such as myself, Imperium, and Muffin imo
this might be the async I'm having with consensus then, my feeling has tended to be that brian *as town* is more reserved, so this version of brian might just be me seeing a different version of town brian than I'm expecting. there is one other thing tho that I can ask him about in a sec

So for me, one of the things that most struck me in Sirius's early game was that he wrote 47 so fast in response to my 43. Like I was basically fleshing out the exact same plan as him in 47 and he basically ninja'd me, and that really impressed me in his early game. And I've also noticed that other people who liked this plan have basically been more or less trying to keep to it (i.e. gx) and even those who want to go seem pretty okay with it (spiff)

so for me the trajectory from early game to 914 just feels kinda weird to me because it seems like Brian used a very hyperbolic reaction to sirius's presentation of ('our'--I know Sirius ninja'd me so it's more accurate to say 'his' even though my ego doesn't want to do that) plan, "genius" only for him to within just a few rl days kinda cave to 'let's launch people who want to go'

it just feels off to me, and some of his tone in other posts makes me feel nervous but that's more abstract and harder to articulate. He's definitely the most townread player I'm concerned with atm so if I'm just wrong here I'd like to get that sorted out sooner than later.

@Brian, if "genius" was meant to be sarcasm or if I'm misunderstanding your feels in 914 let me know

yeah I don't think that's going to take off, more registering that you're the player from our side that I currently think would be most 'useful' to purple room. I love tammy but I don't think I learn more about her by hearing what she does there from the other side

I wasn't being sarcastic. I liked the idea.

My yeet pool is not very large right now. I believe we can afford to let Spiffeh go if the other thread cooperates.

I think Imperium is town. If they want to Purple Room, then I'd like for them to be able to do that. I'm also more interested in it considering it would be two players from our side instead of one.

That's pretty fair.

I guess I get nervous giving Tammy hoods because I know she's charismatic AF and LOVES pts as scum, so even though I'm leaning town on their slot atm I know they are a very dangerous player to give 'good conditions for pocketing' if I'm wrong

I guess I'm still struggling to think of best use of purple room as far as hoods go, I feel like there has to be some other mechanic for it (maybe purple roomed players can't be killed like in some of the MBOS variants?) and if we're using it as like a 'doc' more than a hood the I'd approach it differently

right now we're just assuming it's a publicly confirmed hood tho ye?

You'd paid somewhat close attention early game and knew this was 20-6 setup right? Am I wrong for townreading bell for forgetting the number of scum but feeling like you asking about 3ps is a bit scummy?

Wasn't really going for anything, just wanted to see how he'd handle it.

I don't understand what you mean for townreading bell by forgetting the number of scum. I do remember you thinking he could be town for maybe not knowing how many scum were in
this
thread. Unless you meant something else? Also, pretty sure he was being sarcastic so I don't know why you'd townread him for that specifically.

I did know this was a 20-6 setup. Wasn't the purpose of my question. I wanted to know where people where going with the 'cult' thing because to me, that implies 3p vibes and as far as I know this game doesn't have that.

Yeah. I think that's a running joke and sometimes I get pinged when people don't pick up on something that's a joke.

I'm not actually sure this is possible, but can you expand on why you thought bell was being sarcastic *in the first line specifically* in 855
In post 855, Bell wrote:How many scum are in this game.
I will divide by the number of scum and town just to piss you off or make you giggle depending on whether you like me or not.
I want to be even more obnoxious some stupidly high number.
But don't make me humiliate myself if I'm not right.

Just did.

I am a bad person.
clearly the thing as a whole is meant to be a joke, but line 1 seems to be implying he can't remember the numbers of the scumteam *for the entire game* off the top of his head.

Now you could argue that was scum trying to overcompensate for not perspective slipping, but to me it felt like it was just town being inattentive

But do you more think he was saying "take the number of scum in this game" and it wasn't dealing with his awareness of the number of scum at all?

Shelly -

Can you talk to me a bit more about how your Bell read has progressed during the day? Also feel a bit weird how you have scum dead to rights in this thread but also want to turnstile to another thread - might be projecting my own play onto yours but I can't help but feel that if I had confident scum in this thread then I want to give them an easy way away from me by transferring out of town, if that makes sense.
In post 229, shellyc wrote:this seems like scum!bell

lack of effort, defeatist
So your first characterization of scum!Bell is that he doesn't put in the effort and he's immediately defeatist. Lack of effort doesn't seem to apply. He's currently outpacing you in posting now, and it's fair to say that he's defeatist when he hasn't given up on the push on you yet. His posting isn't dense, but I didn't expect it to be based on my experience with him so far, and he is pretty one-track minded but it's too early for me to be crazy worried about that yet.
In post 237, shellyc wrote:i feel like scum!bell is more likely to be sarcastic here

Bell greatly prefers town from my knowledge, wants to be townread as town, there's none of that here
I understand your point here for sure - it's part of the reason that I'm townreading Bell here. His town preference leads to a bit of swagger when he rolls town - confidence that he is town and should be identified as such. If you control + F "town" in his ISO in Smoke-Filled Antechamber, for example, you'll see him ask to be "town block buddies with ffery" (which he later backed down from by saying that "town block buddies" means "friendlier than usual"), and you'll see him tell one person their read is wrong. Here, if you go through the same exercise, he talks a couple of times how he's contributing by being blatantly town, posts that he's town before he goes to bed, talks about how happy he is that he's town and describes the smile on his face when he's town.

So I understand why you made this point on Bell here, but when new information came into play your read didn't evolve. Why? Am I misinterpreting the tell that you're talking about here?
In post 282, shellyc wrote:theres also a weird lack of a vote: shellyc despite bell saying "shellyc is obvscum due to meta"

Bell also has no intention of explaining the meta
Why didn't you address Bell's read on you after he explained it (and yes, I know that you did technically "respond", but it wasn't a response made in good faith).
Can you respond to the case and can you explain why you don't think it's genuine here?
In post 385, shellyc wrote:you arent even convinced by your own case
I didn't like this response - to me, this is a potshot. I liked Bell waffling on his case on you a bit - felt genuine to me and seems strange for Bell at this point to suddenly decide to weaken his position on you by expressing that vulnerability when everyone was townreading him and ignoring him already and you weren't in danger of being lynched (no risk of accountability, everyone still townreading him).

Vote: ShellyC

And after spending a bit more time with the ISO, this is where my vote feels the most comfortable.
