I mean the day you stop being paranoid of me is the day you decide that you're going to stop playing mafia.

No one should ever stop being paranoid of me. I've got the reputation I've got because of countless games and endless moments and it's earned but a burden.

If you're asking me to quell paranoia, the only thing I cuold do is suddenly start "obv towning" but then you should be paranoid about that because it means I knew what to do to obv town which means I would know how to do it as scum.

So you're going to need to look at what I've already done in this game to this moment and decide for yourself.

I could tell you the "best way to read me" but the truth is that incites paranoia too. We're gonna loop on that a bunch, so instead I'll give it to you and you can provide the grain of salt on your own.

The best way to read me is to remember I'm not always the same person and we talk and move differently. A lot of this shit makes people see me as chaotic and weird and that's true, but the biggest part is that you can't fake the hips, to borrow a sports metaphor.

Motivation is fakable, intention is not.

So go look at why I've done the fights I've done. Not the outcome of them, but their initiation.

If you can find my motivations for these, you'll find me as town, because there are some powerful reasons behind these actions that scum don't want to have happen.

I think also that the apathy talk we had, is a good clue for you.

no one in particula, no. i was just going to go down the list, but with my main emphasis being the people who originated in this thread, because that really needs to be solved at some point and i've put too little brainpower into it (quick thoughts on pk/pooky/a50: first two should be within the POE, a50 looked fairly town based on his iso from the other thread)

a50 feels scummy to me from the entrance, mostly because a50 kind of shittered it up and then suddenly got a fuck ton better and i find that extremely weird.

I am not long for the night but I would really love if you'd unpack for my sake? I reached out the other night, dunno if you saw it.

So first, I went over a bunch of data on how I read LLD, both in a specific game and at large, and how I look for the intent behind the emotions. My primary takeaways were that the first two "events" she kicked off were fairly town with good reasons behind them, but that the third one felt kind of like it was too "been there done that" to work, and that Pooky could easily guess at the answer key. I came out of it with a "tier two town" read of her, where before my read was kind of in flux, so if nothing else talking it over out loud on the drive home was worth it.

I really hope to get some real time interaction with her, especially to probe her read of Peta. (I am not seeing what she is seeing)

When did you start reading peta as scum, and was it always intense or was it something that built gradually over time? Was there a specific catalyst or set of posts to this read?

Like... Walk me through the mommy stork and the daddy stork that loved each other very much and made this read.

Day 1 I was heavy on the peta town train cause my dude really hit all the notes I wanted. He was charismatic, needed answers and wasn't interested in being snowed by anyone. It felt like he had townie mentality.

But as the days went on... more or less after the FL elimination and no one stopping it, I was super jaded. FL was a huge town read of mine, as you know. So I began looking at the people in power. I fake shot you to get reads on you and Deacon, and I tried mindmelding with Peta to get stuff there.

Peta and I being unable to connect... and Peta only wanting to talk about his read on me, gave me a bad worrying taste. I was worried he was gonna setup into day 3.

So I resolved, day 3, if Peta came out swinging after day 1 and 2 not stopping FL elimnation and being kind of passive day 2, I was gonna hard suspect it.

He came out swinging at me and when it got no traction, look where he ended up.

Pushy apathy style at Pooky rn.

It just lines up too perfectly from a Peta scum who feels in control and gets to do what he likes.

So that's when I got there. It was the way Peta handled things and the results we got. Someone in power is scum and made FL happen. If it's not you or Deacon, it's Peta.

because as a whole i felt like the town hasn't been good at coming together and finding scum and there was something of a leadership vacuum. i just had the feeling of dread that whatever decision we came to would likely be a compromise one that wouldn't flip scum because it didn't feel like people wanted to ask tough questions. i guess i still feel like a50 would be that one here as most of the arguments against him revolve around him lurking. the other thread i have no fucking clue on who is scum anymore. that was actually a big part of it was that i had no really confident scumreads at the time and when that's the case i feel scum are more likely going to be able to influence the elimination. so to try to fix that i've been conversing with people to attempt to gain some clarity.

One of the reasons I think skitter is scum (and if she is, dandelion likely just isn't) is that she keeps throwing that sentiment around but has I think no vehicle to push either of us because we're both town.
I got her initial frustration with a lot of the reasons for pushes on her early on because there was a ton of cloak and dagger shit going on in hoods. At this point I think that kind of crap is actively detracting from the game and I've been pretty much boycotting the hood today because of it.
