Reading the line "success bonus" on the raid description below the VC implies that scum don't necessarily want to always stop town from succeeding if they benefit too.

For all we know garunteeing a raid is actually a bad thing if the prize is first come first serve and they want the rewards. So honestly I wanna say early role claim is bad. It could just be a powerful scum wanting more use of their ability.

I did check with the mod, and as a matter of fact: yes. That's in fact how it works! The mod confirmed that me using my 1x guaranteed raid success...will give me another shot at a guaranteed raid success.

The downside to me claiming/confirming this is that now all scum with X-shots know they can get another X-shot but hopefully the town can get more mileage out of the raid. (I claimed without knowing what the raid bonus was, I saw my role earlier, formed a plan for what I'd do on daystart, I was phoneposting when the game started, so didn't know the ramifications until now.)

A townie mindset would save this to stop 3 failed raids in a row or something instead of wasting it early on. But you claimed it when the mod alluded to that type of role day 1 and plan to use it immediately?

I read the raid thing at the beginning and it said only hostile factions can choose to pass or fail the raid if they're in it. So your ability seems more suited to town at first glance. But it said faction(s). So I dunno.

I just don't wanna trust you to claim this role so early. Does the town know when you succeed? Because if we don't know when you use it, then you can just let this raid pass through by just accepting this raid as scum instead. You'd know if your buddies are in the raid anyway.

Maybe it's because on my main account people are very quick to townread me and I just end up wondering how much of that is a personality/vibe thing, and if I'm stuck having to play like that forever when it's tiresome.

What I've found is that alterations of playstyle tend to carry the added risk of making the player sound disingenuous.

Intentional alteration of playstyle is, in itself, an agenda. Town typically distrusts insincerity, especially when an agenda is involved.

Yeah because some people played with Bambi after Elsa or vice versa they view the other one as less genuine. My agenda just happens to be boredom. If I play 1 way all the time mafia gets boring.

I like having two separate but still vaguely related styles. If anyone here has played with both they can see a slight difference. The only constant I guess is unless under the threat of death I rarely make a full Readlist day 1 without faking it. So I'll read 4-5 people today and that's about it.

Mastina is still null btw. Didn't even question me about my hypothesis and just put me near the bottom of her list. I expected her to interact with me at least somewhat.

Mastina got the Elsa rabies in which I did something stupid and must be tunneled to death. I was ready to get off the raid when Tommorow and Angel basically ended all the raid talk before it went anywhere. Tommorow also benefitted and got on the raid and then it failed.

Mastina seems to be fake claiming something elsa about her role in order to try and make more people want me dead so that's sad. Mod wouldn't give Mastina anything besides the Raid garuntee if that's her true role. A reminder it's a role that is easily faked when scum control when the raid passes or fails too.

Hmm. I think I thought of something.

Mastina suggesting that scum janitored the guy with 2 clears is valid evidence to prove they're innocent. But H1H2 said they had 2 possible clears on day 2. So if they had a night action that would imply they used it night one only.

I think what's actually going on is the opposite of what Mastina is suggesting. They killed H1H2 precisely BECAUSE they were vague enough to give two clears despite that being weird to have 2 in one night. And they're role now can "confirm" what the cleaned role was?

I think we might crack the case here if Mastina is Janitor. She garunteed herself an extra clean by getting a 1-shot day 1, and on day 2, despite it being a great idea to use it so town (Romance) couldn't be roleblocked anymore, it still fails. Then she says point blank "I can clear TC let's elim Elsa".

And even if you don't believe me, I do genuinely think scum cleaned in order to use those "clears" on themselves. Tictac is at least trying. TC let Mastina save them and joined the wagon on me. So scum cleaned to use these "clears" confirmations. And Mastina comes out suddenly saying she can get the dead role... So correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Janitors get to know the cleaned role as well?

Mastina isn't wanting the bulletproof to look selfless, but because no vigilante would shoot her at this point besides me and scum wouldn't kill their janitor. I can buy scum not killing her night 1 because of a doctor but when Sakura became known from TC claiming it, this turned around on it's head.

Mastina/TC happening because she saw TC and Tictac being cleared by H1H2. Uses it not only to clear herself by outting the information, but she can then go "oh I'm out of shots so scum isn't killing me".

TC is basically inactive scum Mastina is using to get to endgame with. Because if she "clears" them it's a free ride for the two of them to win. That's my crackpot theory.

Mastina never claimed a role. She's using that as leverage to basically be an excuse why scum won't kill her. She won't claim a flavor because none would get past Toog. She let YOU look up the role she's implying.
