I don't feel Mathblade's viewpoint is good for the gamestate as a whole. Town!Math is usually very reactionary.

His thought process start from two things that we have no idea if they are right 1) that he's right, 2) that scum oppose him and 3) the only reason he's not sheeped is getting "drowned out" (bonus if by scum).

In the last game I linked to him, town wanted a Pooky wagon. Pooky flipped scum. Math spent the entire game looking for the scum pushing Pooky and failing to find it.

His mindview doesn't consider town working around him and identifying each other.

McMenno and Not-Mafia are largely the same thing at this point. One however must have scum because people coordinated without him.

I have been utterly exhausted. 1200 miles of driving in a week during flooding does that.

However, the TLDR of UltimateGamer is that the arguments they use have no basis to reality but instead serve an agenda. They use the same reasons to push NM that they fully rejected for McMenno. They talk to QuietOwl as if they are townreading QuietOwl to get their toleclaim. Their rationale on townreading KA is hot garbage and partially recycled.

I like the third party theory somewhat when going through the flips. kitten around was a compulsive disloyal doctor. That makes less sense to include in a setup without third party kills. Ranger's obsession with me and imaginality makes sense for a third party because she believed in such a third party before any reason to do so. Particularly if Ranger was informed about two players sharing a single role and being unaware of Summon the Phoenix's role. That's a bit of a stretch though fwiw.

What isn't a stretch is that we had two wagons on mafia simultaneously. One on the godfather and one on the disloyal doctor. The disloyal doctor flipped first, which obviously had less value. I get strong town vibes from Summon the Phoenix for this. I already know imaginality is town but I'd townread that as well. Prince gets weak townpoints for being on the counterwagon before it took off as it was also scum and he's with Mathblade. I doubt that's a panic vote but a slim possibility it was.

Quiet Owl v Kitten Around is interesting. This likely was because McMenno stalled out. I expect this wagon to be infested with scum. Mathblade being the only scum on Quiet Owl doesn't make much sense. Mathblade also is helping to start a counter to two scum wagons. He doesn't do that on a third particularly when Kitten Around has negative utility. I have no interest in a Quiet Owl wagon. Major negative points for Kitty Tacky.

I could also go for Gimli as a last minute scramble onto the kitten around wagon.

More generally, it seems like you're basing your Quiet Owl read on your experience with MathBlade's scum play. Can you really read Quiet Owl's posts themselves and come back with a positive conclusion? I don't think pre-flipping them as town to decide all your reads is a good idea. Not saying that's definitely what you're doing, but it looks a bit like that.

The wiki page for Gunsmith doesn't mention 'Guns' per se but rather the types of roles that count as 'gunned' for the Gunsmith's purposes. Also, the wiki page for Inventor mentions a one-shot kill as only one of many abilities that can be vended. I think the idea that Enchant could give out one-shot kills repeatedly would be really unbalanced, and doesn't line up with the number of kills we've had per night.

It's also possible that the town bus driver got it into NM's hands by chance (though that would imply scum gave it to someone they didn't target for the nightkill, or that the nightkill target was protected (but that doesn't fit with the two kills per night)).

Personally I think it reasonably plausible scum Enchant gave the hammer to town NM with intent of getting more town cred when claiming later. But mass claim here will certainly help narrow down the possibilities.

They don't want unpredictability. If we lim Ranger, then it frees me up to do what they fear, actually get the real last scum.

Furtive/kittens/George/Enchant

George, furtive, and kittens are all scummy based on simple tells which are easy to spot, while my read on Enchant is both based and based on similarity to their scumgame in TfT. Quiet Owl and MathBlade I swapped out because they are generating more associative tells with other players, commenting on a wider variety of things and in my experience I don't think they are as likely to flip scum as Enchant or George are.

I'm still intending to ghost the thread until Friday night, and after that, I may ghost the thread again for a couple days. Unless anything important happens then I'll mainly just be posting a reads list and maybe my meta case on Gamma. I'm somewhat apathetic who gets voted out as long as it's one of those four. I'd rather other people discuss and choose so the discussion can be read D2. I don't like this at all. I was sort of fine with Titus and Imaginality because I thought they would self-resolve, guaranteed. And now Titus wants to be protected instead? I have issues with this. The very role of a Suicide Bomber (from a design perspective) should be unprotectable. That's how I was thinking about it. I'm worried that Titus is trying to use Ranger's role as a cover here. Also, Ranger and Kitty 'protecting' Titus wastes the Vigilante aspect of Ranger's role, which is far more beneficial to town (whether she's town or mafia, leashing Ranger to a scumread is good).

Limming QO without a vig, tells us that QO lied to get Ranger out. It also helps for VCA. Then I blow up Ranger.

There's literally no benefit to me not bombing Ranger unless I am 100% sure I will end the game in this setup and imaginality does along. I don't do that alone. Imaginality would never approve anyway.
