Sorry for not being here, I'm pseudo-V/LA due to the fact that yesterday my ISP decided to block Mafiascum at my house. I can see it at work and I can catch up here, just unfortunately, I won't be as active as I would like to be.
@Sudai - It's not RVS if you have a reason. I wasn't trying to delay the start more than the fact that it's summer and maybe our last person had some RL stuff going on, and might have not known that we were ready to start.
I'm going to head over to the other threads and do some reading up.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

I may be confused but confirmation stage is before the game starts, so how can something in confirmation stage be held against someone?Boxman wrote:Starbuck: Tried to stop us from starting before Mr. Big got here. Slowly catching up here. Sorry the other games are rather confusing. I think I'll be just concentrating on ours for a bit.
Anyways, zwet, when did you start this whole "I only hammer" thing? I've played more than my fair share of games with you now and I've never seen this.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

I didn't go through all of Day 1 without saying anything. I was reading the other games to try and see where they were at, just like everyone else did, before posting in ours.
That's quite an accusation to make also when your first real post wasn't until yesterday.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

Why would you make this game a lower priority than the others?
You confirmed and then didn't post anything until yesterday, so if you want to accuse someone of not being here for Day 1, you need to look at yourself before you point any fingers at anyone else.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

I actually have been busy this week. I'm in the military and I'm about to head out for my 3rd watch of this week. My friends had their second baby on Weds and I was the babysitter for their older son, and on top of all that I had my Physics final/last class last night. The watch I'm on today is 12 hours with no internet access so you won't here back from me until around 6 pm or so my time (GMT +1).
I have been reading along though and have posted my thoughts as we have gone. Unfortunately, it seems that's not enough, but I do find it contradictory that HeadHoncho is coming after me when he only started posting legitimately a few days ago.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

Zwet came up as a white card and was a townie.
I would think that a black card (the opposite of white in the game) would be mafia.
For those that haven't read the card, here is what it says:
"Legendary - Vampire
Crovax the Cursed enters the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may sacrifice a creature. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on Crovax. If you don't, remove a +1/+1 counter from Crovax.
Black: Crovax gains flying until end of turn."<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

In the whole of Magic, just like chenhsi said about the 5 color spirits and humans, there are 5 color slivers.whoot1234 wrote:it specifys i am miller right after the information about my card. what reason would I have to claim miller if I wasnt? Do not assume that I do not play. I have been playing for close to 10 years now, just because most people I know prefer to play casually together rather than in a regional tournament DOES NOT make us less knowledgable. So quit this ad hom attack on those of us who do play casually.whoot1234 wrote:Starbuck you obviously dont play the card game because if you did you know that creature types are more commonly linked then card colors...
thats why I think mufasa's suggestion of goblin king and goblins and Silver queen/overlord and sllivers would be correct as in tars game pyro already hinted at being unrecruitable townie which leads me to believe that sliver queen is the mafia recruiter..
Did I say anywhere that creature types aren't linked?
Also, the Metallic Sliver is just a 1/1 creature, he's not even a special Sliver in the least.
I think you are caught and doing everything that you can to stall your lynch, and I really don't like your speculation into the setup.
I will be waiting to place my vote until FL's game reaches night.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

Who's theory was that? I didn't say it, but all that was said earlier was that Kamigawa's theme is spirit vs humans, not that this game is that way.
And I don't like the fact that you are pulling the Newbie card, it definitely seems to me like you have had some experience with mafia before.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

Whoot, you thought it was policy to lynch claimed Vanilla Townies. You hammered without letting us get more information from Zwet. A good chunk of us have played with him before and saw that he was playing differently than he normally does.
We have a great souce of information in the Mafiascum Wiki. Why don't you go use it so you can see what phrases like 'Bulletproof Townie' mean? You assumed that it was a suped up Vanilla Townie.
You also have been speculating quite a bit. Scum normally speculate to get an idea about the town's power roles. Just because you think certain cards wouldn't work well together, does not mean that they won't.
Also, your ad hom attacks on everyone that you deem as inexperienced with Magic have not helped your case, at least with me.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

Apologies for my absence, even though I am stationed overseas, we still celebrate Labor Day Weekend.
@Head_Honcho - I meant your strawmanning of me.
You went after me because I was reading the other games, just like almost everyone else did, to try and stay caught up with theirs and ours. You also assumed that I was making our game a lower priority than the others via post 207.Head_Honcho wrote:you seemed to avoid posting any content regarding this game.
I do not like that you want to disregard anything going on in the other games.
And in one post (114), you go from the opinion of not wanting to pay attention to the other gamesHead_Honcho wrote:I'm going to go ahead and completely disregard the other subgames until there is some explicit crossover.
to not wanting to ignore them completely.Head_Honcho wrote:Anything that distracts unduly from the people in this specific game is not a good idea, and I think focusing a bunch of attention and posts on the other games falls under that.
I don't like how you go from one extreme to the other in the very same post.Head_Honcho wrote:I don't think the other games should be ignored entirely, for instance I think once we have night flavor/actions it could be helpful to compare them to the other games to try to get a feel for setup, but as far as picking lynches I think it would do us well to keep the majority of analysis directed at people we can actually affect with votes.
I also do not like your ad hom attacks, like this:
Head_Honcho wrote:It's apparently your word of the day so I'm curious where it actually applies to me.
What doesn't make sense to you about the following:
I'm guessing that you haven't really played with Zwet. He definitely has a playstyle all his own. I have played quite a few games with him since joining this site, and I normally have a very difficult time reading him. This game though he was just acting very different from other games that we have played, and anyone else who has played with zwet extensively probably saw what I saw.Head_Honcho wrote:
None of which really makes any sense. Firstly I don't really get why Zwet playing 'different than he normally does' would be ANY kind of defense for Zwet, since normally you are a townie. Whoot didn't do any speculating at all which would help figure out town power roles, he yammered about magic cards. Along with some of your later posts assuring the town that the whoot lynch was definitely justified I get a strong CYA vibe.Starbuck wrote:Whoot, you thought it was policy to lynch claimed Vanilla Townies. Did you happen to forget that this game is based on Magic: the Gathering? So Whoot "yammering on" about magic cards is definite speculation in my opinion.
And with that,Vote: Head_Honcho

I do know what both strawmanning and ad hom mean, and I explained myself more than once to you. Obviously, you will never be satisfied with my answer which is why you continue to attack me via ad hom, even now.Head_Honcho wrote:You have never told me how that is strawmanning. I guess I am beginning to suspect you don't know what it means, which kind of makes sense since you apparently don't know what ad hominem means either.
Where did I lash out? I did answer you, again since I didn't answer to your satisfaction, you automatically assume that I did not answer you. I did give opinions on Day 1, but I also was trying to catch up with other games as did many other people in our game.Head_Honcho wrote:I don't like how instead of answering a legitimate question or at least clarifying my 'misunderstanding' you lashed out at me. So let's just make this easy, why don't you quote one of your posts day one before the hammer in which you were contributing to this game. That way we can see just how wrong I was to ask you such a dumb question! (I'm talking scumhunting, or even opinions)
Where am I strawmanning? You definitely went from one extreme to the other in the very same post.Head_Honcho wrote:See, this is actually strawmanning. I never went from one extreme to the other. If anything my position on the subject became much more moderate, but I actually see the first part and the third part as the same thing, except in the third one you quoted I explained what I meant by explicit crossover.
And you are attacking the debater, "It's apparently your word of the day" is not attacking the debater? As is your first blurb at the top of the last post?Head_Honcho wrote:This is not ad hominem at all, ad hominem is attacking the debater instead of the argument. Your argument seemed to begin and end with 'omg strawman' so I don't think it was unfair of me to ask for clarification.
Where did I say that he would more likely be a townie? I never did. I also never said that someone would be more likely to be townie if they were playing differently. I ONLY commented on the fact that ZWET was playing differently than what I am used to seeing him play.Head_Honcho wrote:I haven't played with Zwet. That doesn't clear things up at all! Why would someone be more likely to be a townie if they were playing different than they normally do?
Speculation is speculation. He went off very far on a tangent that had us arguing more about what could POSSIBLY be in the game than what really is in the game. He was making assumptions and steering us off track.Head_Honcho wrote:It was all about the scum though, please show me (with a specific post of whoot's) where his speculation showed any intention or possibility of outing town power roles. Just talking about magic is not enough, plenty of people were talking about magic.
Let's see, you have been VERY overaggressive since we started, and have been jumping around on different people. It seems like you want a lynch and you don't care who is lynched as long as it isn't you.Head_Honcho wrote:why do any of those things make me look scummy to you?<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

I did offer opinions, helped with some flavor explanation and even posted the card that zwet said that he was (Cho-Manno, Revolutionary - White Card, Human Rebel....Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Cho-Manno Revolutionary). I did what I could with the little time I had a work to post. His lynch was very hasty and not well thought out, which is why you don't see me on it.
I also did mention the fact that my ISP did block Mafiascum for a bit at my house, and I could only reply or post from work, but apparently you missed that too? Just fyi, I'm an American in the United States Navy and I currently live in Sicily, and my internet service at home is Italian. Sometimes I can get to the sites I frequent and sometimes I can't. Currently now, I'm able to get to MS at home, but during that time period I was not.
You're all about me going back to re-read my posts, but why don't you go back and read? You'd find that I did say that I was semi-V/LA due to my connection issue for that time. Before you chew someone out, you should (1) not be guilty of the same thing, and (2) do your damn research.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

just reviewing these recent posts, I'm leaning either towards Starbuck or Qwints. I've been wanting to lynch qwints for a while, but Starbuck rates much higher for her recent scumtell of dancing around Head Honcho's arguments. I'd rather not bandwagon, though, so I won't vote until I can manage a reread of some sort.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3-

The point is we never got a chance to ask zwet why he was playing differently because the hammer went down so fast. Whoot was overeager. And the town should focus on the wagon, we already know that there was one scum on it (Percy) there definitely can be more. Zwet was WAY too easy of lynch and a quicklynch like that is just what scum want.
What do you mean since I have had no answer? I have done nothing lately but answer all of your questions. And I didn't say that nor anything close to it, that in and of itself is grasping for straws.
