Discworld Mafia: Anarchy in Ankh Morpork (Night 7) Choices!

The Patrician has been murdered most foully! He was found this morning torn limb from limb and with his chest cavity ripped open. The Assassins' Guild and the Thieves' Guild have both declared that they will choose the next Patrician, and then declared that they would not listen to their other guild's choice. Finally, they agreed that it would be put to a public vote. Also, the Watch declared that, in an attempt to find the killers, one person would be lynched each day, also by majority vote. The townspeople go to bed, not sure what to expect of the coming days.

So, rules: A majority is required to lynch, and a majority is required to elect the Patrician. If no majority is reached for the Patrician before majority for lynching or the deadline, the person with the most votes will become Patrician. A term as Patrician lasts three days, and the powers are this: he can stop any one lynch, his vote counts double, and he cannot be lynched while in power. He can be voted out of power by a majority, but please only try to vote him out if you think you have a chance. Votes for the Patrician should be underlined, unlike normal votes, which should be bolded. Please only use bolding and underlining for these purposes (although bolding FOSes is allowed). If there is no majority to lynch by a deadline, we will require at least a third of the town to be voting for one person for a lynch to go through.

Djelibeybi is sleeping when, all of a sudden, he hears footsteps. He opens his eyes, but sees nothing. He glances at all the areas in the room, and still sees nothing but shadows. He sighs, and tries to go back asleep. A shadow detaches from the others in the room and creeps towards his bed. The shadow pulls out a knife, and SLASH. He creeps out of the room, leaving Djelibeybi, townie, dead.

Unlike Djelibeybi, Jeep is not sleeping. He is walking home after finding his stake-out fruitless, when, all of a sudden, he hears a noise behind him. Walking down the street towards him is a person with his head downwards. Jeep shouts, "Who are you?" When the person doesn't respond, he readies his staff. All of a sudden, the person looks up. Jeep looks into insane eyes. "Give me your soul!" the person yells. "No!" shouts Jeep. "Then DIE!" Jeep finds himself unable to remember any spells as the person runs at him and kills him. Jeep, Archchancellor Ridcully, is dead.

The loud clanging of a bell is heard from the Watch House, and a new day begins.

The town wakes up in the morning, not sure what to do about the whole Patrician thing. Quickly, ambic makes a suggestion: "Vote for GARM, he's honest!" The town responds: "Buh?" and then "What, are you guys scum or something?" and then, when GARM denounces any connection, "Ambic is scum!" As the votes pile up, ambic begins a frantic defense. Finally, he claims a role: "I'm a suicidal townie, kill me and the game ends!" Again, the town responds: "Buh?" and then "You must be lying scum!" They finally string ambic up, and nothing interesting happens. They then head to his houise, where they find nothing special. Ambic was a mere townie, lying to defend himself.

One more thing to note - the Theives Guild/Boggis seemed to intended to make a kill - but didn't actually make one. Is that significant? Was there some sort of doctor protection in play? And who has the gonne now??

I think these are valid questions for me to answer. The benefits of Patrician are in the first post. IS, with the gonne, targeted eillid. Him yelling at the "monster" was mod license. The gonne was empty when you folks found it. And, if you can't tell, mith and the other killing role both targeted IS.

Enough people say, "Yeah, sure." And so zzzbeauty is lynched. Interesting things fail to happen. The town says, "Damn," and goes back to bed... at least, some of them do.

In the middle of the night, a bright flash of green light and a scream came from the center of Ankh-Morpork. Most of the residents were already busy or too scared to leave their beds, but one ran straight for the source. He found Quercitron standing outside an open window, looking inside. Quercitron turned around at the sound, and the person saw his eyes. Those terrible eyes! Quercitron laughed as the person began to shake in fear, but then the person tossed a part of his black cloak in front of his face, blocking a direct view. "I was top of my class in blind-fighting," he said. "Prepare to die." He heard a tearing noise and the shadow cast by Quercitron seemed much bigger, but he charged Quercitron and put a dagger into him. Quercitron shriveled up and collapsed. When he dropped the cloak, the remains of a strange, evil looking creature were laying on the ground. As it breathed its last breath, it said "It is not over yet."

Quercitron, a Thing from the Dungeon Dimensions, has been killed.

All of a sudden, a black shape appeared in front of her. It stabbed her. She saw it's face and said, "Why?" The dark shape recognized her, but it was too late to do anything. Leonard da Quirm had already died.

Jeep is returning from a theft, and happens down a dark alley. However, this time he does not wait, he is waited for. An ethereal shape floats toward him and says, "Join me..." "No!" he yells, and begins to run. Just as it seems like he might get away, a thing of fur and claws jumps him from the other side. His body is mercilessly shreded by both creatures. Spent for the night, the ethereal form fades, and the other thing vanishes into an alley.

MeMe, on the other hand, is returning from the most vigourous investigation ever undertaken when a figure in black leaps down behind him, from above. He was too winded to run, and was stabbed.

Jeep, the Thieves' Guild Leader, has been killed. However, the key to the Guild was not on his body.

MeMe, Sergeant Colon, has been killed.

The bells of the Assassins' Guild toll dawn.

It is now Day Six, eleven to lynch.

"You'll regret this!" he shouts, as he's dragged up the steps to they rope. It is looped around his neck, the floor drops out from under his feet, and he expires much quicker than Leonidas had been expiring. On him you find a large money pouch with "For Tonight's Kill" written on the side.
