They're making that into a MOVIE? *rolls eyes*

I would imagine the mafia groups are 3-2-2, since the post does make each one seem like a group... and there's more than one alien movie out there with their name as a title. Agreed, bad start with three townies falling.

Vote: mathcam
for casting suspicion on someone who was voted two times on day 1. C'mon, Mathcam. I'd ignore those votes too. Why would you treat it like Bloojay is flying under the radar?

Re: CB  It looks like every tired, hackneyed reason for casting a vote the first day has been dusted off and paraded this game. Except one. The "Vote: Werebear because he's the last one on the list" (darn that zzzbeauty for dropping off the face of the earth).

Has anyone considered, besides the possible doc protects, that maybe the mafias are hoping mathcam gets lynched day 1 if they don't kill him?!!?

*mutters at the silliness of some people*

Mathcam --

I am defending you because I'm sick of the "if mathcam survives, we should lynch him".

I am voting you because you pounced on Bloojay for no reason.

Does that help clarify things?

I also would doubt "The Sound of Music" is scum... and claiming mason gets revealed in time.

Modargo, why would you cast suspicion on a mason?

I read the post, and missed that last bit. *shakes head*

Well, the vote was cast before he had knowledge of the role, and if he's really restricted, there's no unvoting.

at least 1/3 of the remaining players are mafia... whether the numbers are 3-3-1 or 3-2-2, that's 7 out of 18 that are scum. And I'd consider that minimum. Losing 5 town to one mafia isn't good.

I'm still undecided on who to vote for, so I'm going to watch for the moment. Actually, my instinct was to follow MeMe, which usually means whoever I tend to follow is scum. *laugh*

I'm starting to suspect MeMe a little, but still, she's too important to have around if she isn't scum, so I'd rather delay any lynching of MeMe to at least 2 days from now. As with mith, probably.
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at this statement. :)

*agrees with mathcam* Oh, and there is no note "so". There is "SOL" Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do. :) And I just googled, and 2/3 of the scales used "so" instead of "sol". Well, they're WRONG! WRONG WRONG WRONG!

I think i need a weekend.

Re: "Sol" versus "So"... I was happy to catch a discrepancy, but when I googled, I found out half -- if not more -- of the sites listed it as "so". So (*groan*) I really can't accuse Wacky of lying, if it's that common.

You did pounce on Bloojay, scum or no scum. And I'd think it would be a good reason NOT to vote me, since I rarely defend scum if I'm scum myself.

Ever hear the quote "Even a blind pig finds a truffle once in a while"? :) I hate to keep bringing this up, but just because he was scum doesn't mean your points were valid. You're very very fond of pronouncing yourself
"Mathcam - Defender Of The Town and Finder Of Scum"
... I'm wondering if you didn't "attack" a member of your own mafia group to make yourself look good.

...or maybe other people use random.org, like I tend to do when killing night 1. *shrug* It doesn't matter, I did give you credit for a great guess. I'd be kind of disappointed if Bloojay actually did pick Blackhawk because they knew each other... it's not something I personally would think of. :(

1) I'm honored, mith. I think you're confusing QUANTITY with QUALITY, however. *laugh*

2) Wacky, I don't mind someone saying I'm a lurker if I'm lurking... but to post it 4 posts after I've posted... isnt' that a little too much?? All of a sudden, if I don't post in a few days, I'm singled out. :(

3) mith - the only thing I worry about is if the mafia *IS* 3-3-3, we've already lost enough townies that that would make it 8 mafia left and 10 town. Not overwhelming yet, but getting there. It seems the mafia are having fun killing the town before turning on each other.

3) Massive, go to "Profile" at the top of the page, and you'll see a box for adding a sig.

Well, 1 of 3 things happened...

1) I never did learn any number past 3.
2) Sheer typo, I tried to hit the next number after 3
3) Aliens changed it.
3)I inserted the first 3 and forgot to change the next 3 to the next number (whatever it is).

My vote's on the first option.

I agree, the last vote count is amusing. I also assure everyone there is nothing in my role that makes me go after special video equipment covering various subjects such as differential equations and linear algebra. I just think mathcam deliberately made himself look good by fingering a fellow mafia. I've never seen him emphasize a prior post so much. Oh well, time will tell whether I'm correct, or just hyperparanoid. :)

Wait... rule question...

we're not allowed to claim our roles, but we can claim our movie, can't we? I mean, I can't say "I'm a cop", but I can say "I'm The Naked Gun and I'm cop-like", right? (I say this because Frank Drebbin from TNG was used last DP movie mafia on the GL, and I am NOT TNG)

ROFL @ mith

I'm actually leaning in favor of lynching Totem still. A doc claim is the most suspicious one I can think of. I wouldn't mind hearing who he's protected still.

Well, I'm finishing it!

...I couldn't resist saying that. I googled movies that had axe in the title, and there is a movie called just "axe" as well as "So I married an axe murderer" before I realized I was wasting my time, it doesn't matter what the movie was, whoever is that movie can't say who they are.

2 bond, 1 corleone. We still have Robocop I out there as well. If there's 7 killers, that's 4/13 mafia. If there's 9 killers, that's 5/13 mafia. Ouch.

Anyways, suspicions. I also am suspicious of God, for his lack of participation, except for popping in at the end of yesterday to say nothing. So, for lack of better ideas,

Your skills of running away can come in handy. Every night you feel like it, you can hide with the player of your choice. If someone targets you, you survive. If someone targets your host, you die as well (unless a doc protects your host).
If you hide with a scum, nothing happens to you
. Email me whenever you want to use this power.
That little highlight part by me, if there wasn't alot of scum, I assume this would be different, in my experience with hiders.
Um.... am I the only one who doesn't understand the leaps of logic used here? Someone's role says that if they hide with a scum, nothing happens to them. That does not scream to me "3-3-3" for mafia groups. That doesn't say anything to ME on the size of groups.

As to the Godfather thing, it's possible that the members of the Corleone mafia are immune to investigation. I'd rather think that a group (or each group) had a godfather. *shrug* it could be taken either way.

...and i'm still happy with my vote.

I understand that part, but don't see where this speaks to you and says "There is 9 mafia, instead of 7". Now, I'd have no problem believing there's 9 mafia in 3 groups, but the logic you posted was faulty IMHO. And now I just see that mathcam posted exactly the same thing right above me. Oh well.

I didn't need to know mathcam was stimulated. I really didn't.

I didn't find any of God's logic posts remotely helpful, I still don't. Listing that X players are claimed then volunteering that he's townie-like didn't help convince me either. This "no claiming" is a toughie, it relies on using the cop more than normal. So, until a better target is presented, my vote stays where it is.

Hmmm.... there is a doc out there. And probably only ONE doc out there, since the backup is dead. So if someone out there is "doc-like", then chances are God is lying. But with 2-3 mafia groups, is it wise for a doc to come out to debunk a lone mafia? I don't know, I think I would personally. If God turns out to be the last of the Godfather mafia, then that's one less kill per night. Of course, if there's three monsters out there, then we've sacrificed our real doc to catch one insignificant mafia... Well,
Unvote: God
. I can unvote him, because there IS a doc out there for sure, and also whether he's a doc or mafia, either way he'll be killed tonight by mafia. :(

I was thinking of what I'd do if I were the doctor in a game. I probably would come out, say I'm "doc-like", and catch a scum before I died. And no, obviously, I'm not "doc-like" in this game. And God most likely
will
be killed tonight. I was just stating the obvious. You don't seem to like me saying it, though... Oh, and if God had continued his claim of "townie-like" he probably would be dead already. Hey, maybe he's a townie pretending to be a doc... *laughs*

Now there's superior logic. Vote the fellow who's posting to try and figure out what to do since we're probably lynching RoboCop. Sorry, I guess I should have let everyone else stumble around instead of sticking MY neck out. Mathcam, your logic is right up there with "Hey! Look! A game where mathcam's still alive! He must be scum!"

We're getting nowhere fast. And now we have a deadline, and can't afford a no lynch. Not that I wanted one anyways. But I'll
Vote: massive
. Then, tomorrow, if massive wasn't scum, Jeep can kindly tell us why he thought massive was.

Jere (Jerebear? sounds like a kid's show), I know the deadline is this friday. But I'd prefer to get started NOW rather than sit on my ass until Friday morning. Just because the deadline's Friday doesn't mean we can't do something.

I will say one thing. I wish the last few non-voters would vote. Yes, I do realize that could mean my doom, but at least the town will have DONE something. I feel like unvoting massive myself at this point, but my suspicions of him haven't really lessened. Hopefully this game won't drag tomorrow... and hopefully I'll still be alive. :?

MeMe... what "one post"? I just looked through all Leonidas' posts, and he has posted EXTREMELY sparsely in this game... HOWEVER, he posted three times on Feb 5th. Did he claim a post restriction??? I didn't see anything in his posts. I'm thinking we have too many "restriction" roles claimed... and think we should consider them as targets. This is what I remember of the claims of post restriction:

Modargo - claims post restrictions, posted Jan 20, 23, 29, Feb 20, 24
Wacky - claims bonus upon post restriction

Also, lurker list -
Leonidas 2/5 (!)
Modargo 2/24
God 2/29
Phoebus 2/29

All of the above have been active in other mafias, but not this one.

I'm still reading the last page, Jeep is confusing me, though he has proved before to guess accurately. I'm going to see what he has to say next before voting, I haven't looked back for "bond hints" myself, and would like to know what he's seen. (maybe it will make my own guessing skills improve!)

Now, I noticed God came out as "doc-like", but still included "whoever Dolittle was backup for" on his list. I'm wondering if we have single cops/docs as well as cops/docs with backup... in a game with 7-9 mafia, it's not outrageous.

I wouldn't think having two days in a row would be something a mafia member would want. I'd think rather there is a player whose sole ability is to extend one day in the game to two lynches.

there's a few doc movies I can think of, but Dr. No, as well as Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde are both movie titles with doc in it, and could be considered doc-like, but I'm glad both of THEM are gone.

I have no problem with a new target... but I would like to remind everyone that Dr. Dolittle, backup doc, is dead. With him and these two claims, that makes three town docs... possible, as I said before, but I'll bet at least one of the two of them is lying through their teeth. The nice part is, hopefully the other mafias will take them out tonight.

Available:
Doc Hollywood
The Doctor (William Hurt movie)
Dr. Strangelove
Dr. Zhivago

I'm actually talking myself out of the three-doc theory, Fishbulb... and I think your "specific doc" idea isn't valid, because we've had Dr. No, Dr. Jeckyll, and Dr. Dolittle go by, and none of them fit the description, unless there's FOUR other doctors in the game (one for each mafia, plus the regular) bringing the total roles with "Doc" in the game to 7.

I agree with that, JereIC... but there's a problem with your idea as well. So you live, night falls, and the all the town's investigators and role blockers, etc. target you... then the town is losing information, and role blockings. To be honest with you, I'm really really hoping the mafias are going to do some heavy duty killing of each other the next few nights. It's the town's only hope. So even though I know I'm going to get picked on for this,

I always worry that MeMe and mathcam seem scummy because they post so much. I just read through the posts of Phoebus, MeMe, and mathcam. And of the three, Phoebus seems the most suspicious. But of all the users left, Modargo is the MOST suspicious to me. Posting 7 times in 22 pages - just enough to be visible, but not enough to be a target. I'm not going to bother voting, so I can see what happens with Phoebus... but in case I don't make it to tomorrow, that's my top suspicion.

*Werebear starts beating himself with a stick* Thank you, MeMe. Is it obvious I don't have a spreadsheet of claims?

Well, Jeep's "spidey senses" have handed us two Godfathers in a row. Even if Phoebus isn't scum, it's still a better track record than I could have done.

You know, I was going to say *stuffs and mounts MeMe*, but that just... doesn't... sound.... right...

Well, we're down to the last 7 players. At this point, it looks like there were two mafia groups, and the alien SK. I'm going to follow Jeep, since I know he's not Bond or Godfather (*grin*), and if he's the alien SK, we have three lynches to nail him in. A semi-comfortable margin, brought about almost single-handedly by Jeep, who led the bandwagons on three godfathers.

Let me also state that I hope I'm never scum in a game where Jeep is the cop.

It's really annoying that God claimed doc. Now I see how annoying it was when I claimed doc as a townie back when I started playing.

Reading back through the past few days, modargo stands out to me, even though mathcam is obviously pointing to Jeep because he knows he's rather high on Jeep's list. Modargo claimed post restriction, I know, which always bothers me, but besides that, his casual comments seem a little forced. I don't know, maybe I'm paranoid.

As to Jeep, I'm thinking he gained some immunity from his role, because I'm pretty sure the Godfathers weren't happy with him, and you'd think in the two nights after he got the first godfather lynched, either they or the bond villians would have nailed him. Either that, or his movie is immune to a type of kill... maybe the Godfathers COULDN'T kill Jeep.

Modargo - I was saying I saw suspicious of you, but also admitting to a personal weakness. When I said I was always a little suspicious of those who have post restrictions, it was something I was saying IN YOUR FAVOR. Or are you just looking for a reason to cast suspicion on someone else?

Well, Modargo has used his two posts for the day. So if we bandwagon him, he won't say another word in his defense. JUST. PERFECT. *rolls eyes* We have two more chances to get the Alien. And I think it's modargo, even though Jeep is telling us different. So I'm not a sheep all the time, though I was damn glad to follow him the last three lynches.
