How to play to wincon in this setup, vs what people are actually likely to do, by smith

If you're a villager

If/when you feel your lynch is inevitable, you should still fight it and ensure that if you are lynched, maximal information is gained from the loss (and if it turns out your partner is a wolf, even better to actually have the process be an actual lynch)
Villagers will actually tend to give up because "I'm helping the town since I'm going down anyway" (even though they flagrantly aren't helping the town while doing this) or "screw you guys for suspecting me" (because it's easier than actually engaging meaningfully with the stated suspicions). This is because villagers tend to be lazy about considering what it means to be a villager, and/or tend to take self-destructive moves out of pique.

If you're a wolf

If/when you feel your lynch is inevitable, wolves should leave the dance to deprive town of useful voting information
Wolves will actually tend to fight their lynch though because they're survivalistic in nature, and/or underestimate the chance that they'll actually get lynched

She claims that shadow are doing some scumhunting in her PT (citation needed) and doesn't say anything about what that scumhunting actually is, and there isn't much reasoning for her to withhold at least the most powerful of scumreads. Again, it's been 700 posts and mariar has confirmed shadow as lock town AND they've discussed a whole bunch of reads. Read Mariar's PT w/ dunn in autumn masquerade and then get back at me at how legitimate that claim is.

irst off, to put the context for all of this in one place, I've made it pretty clear at this point that I don't find it productive to sit here and argue about a single best lynch - I want to identify pairs that are town and lynch the remaining pairs, so as long as this gets accomplished, I don't care *too* much about what order we lynch and thus who gets lynched right at this point in the game. my preference for Jester is purely positional, so that I can talk reads with Kagami and/or Nahdia after what is hopefully a scum flip and the intermission, after the game has calmed down a bit, but I won't cry tears of blood if the lynch lands on someone else unless significant pressure starts to build on a pair I think is very town. there is also that this game is really fucking chaotic and it is very difficult to keep on top of it at the level required to create significant momentum sway, and I don't want to exhaust myself unless I really really need to, aka one of the pairs I think is very town becomes a potential lynch, which also plays into my choice of strategy here.

This is what Smith's entire argument is based off. Your push of Jester is purely positional, and you don't really mind what non t/t pairs get lynched. That holds fast to me. His reasoning about you not pushing the Jester lynch holds fast to me. If you just want a t/t pair lynched, why did you jump on the Jester wagon, again, the one with the lowest chance of being lynched, and vote park there when we're this close to deadline? Jester was acting pretty scummy early on and has since completely disappeared from the game. MDS has done nothing but pop in and AtE all game. They really should have been lynched instead of Vedith/Gamma, if that happened we'd be in much better shape right now. Preferred wagon, probably.

Spoiler: Arthur/Inspector

I desperately need to look into Arthur closer instead of waving all of his posts off as obvtown. Some meta reading will probably help too. I think my interpretation of his personality might have been wrong, which has set my read off all game. You won't have my vote here until I do that analysis.

Spoiler: Funnstral/Kagami

Fringe case. It'll be for Kagami, if it is. So many people have read Kagami as scum and it makes me feel like I've probably given them a free pass much akin to how I may have to arthur. All along I've understood that their posts are objectively scummy (lol @ naked votes) but I feel like I can understand his logic even if he doesn't say it at times. Perhaps that's the plan, put in no details so some idiotic sequencer comes along and fills it in themselves. Beyond that, his posts just felt towny.

I still don't understand the smith scumreads at all even after re-evaluation.

Funnstral will push me now that I'm not voting myself, and he probably thinks it was a ploy to make myself look townier after the obvscum push I did yesterday. I understand that my actions have been objectively scummy, but all that happened is that I changed my mind after a sorely needed re-evaluation.

I still strongly believe that one of {parama, arthur} is scum. If it's not arthur, it's 100% Parama.

But then the combination of her coming right off the bat with a bs case on me + diffusion of responsibility and trying to blame shadow lynch on other people/shadow himself solidified to me that what she was doing is trying to push another mislynch like she did with Shadow, trying to brute force her way into endgame by buddying and calling her lover hardcore town, and pushing wagons elsewhere on town. Her push does not look like it's coming from a town mindset, like do you honestly think she believes half of what she's saying?

I'm scared out of my fucking mind that this is what's going on, too, but then I think of just how shit his play this entire game has actually been if he *is* town here, and the fact that the him-town world likely has Parama and SAD hard cross bussing each other, and I calm down. ideally they should have been lynched first dance so we wouldn't have had to be sitting here entertaining the possibility someone can somehow play that badly as town.

jester and mds shared a hydra in equilibrium mafia, vedith and i were both in that game, and mariar replaced into jester/MDS' scum slot. vedith read them to a tee as scum, and pushed them pretty hard. jester hid from the game, and at a point mds was the only one posting, relaying jester's play to us all until the slot eventually requested a replacement. sound familiar?
now you might say 'this means they're scum' because they were also scum in that game, but i think the motivation here is different for the same action. i think jester could be legit fucking sick of this game because of how 'dumb' town is to scumread him as opposed to how easy vedith read them.

that post looks towny as fuck to me. on the other hand, i was pushing kagami pretty hard for that, and i don't think anybody can argue that kagami's posts there were scummy as fuck. so it might be another attempt to pocket my by sharing my reads.

as town: parama is trying to solve the game, reads mds/jester as T/T and is legitimately unsure on smith's role.
as scum: parama is trying to potentially double-bus the scumteam for towncred and throws smith in there as the final mislynch plan. this is really fucking risky because at this point i'm still unsure on his slot and he knows this, so i could suicide if his bus lynches go through even if he gets insane towncred for it.
parama reads as a very logical and calculating player regardless of alignment, i don't think number 2 really makes any sense at all.

that's my thoughts on that post in particular.
