they got elected mostly from a student vote, I believe, and then promptly fucked that. Or at least that's how i ended up feeling after voting for them.

My current constituency has a 12k gap between the Tories and then who was second - Labour last time around - the Lib Dems took a 15% hit going from second to fourth behind the Tories, Lib Dems and UKIP.
I need to get out and speak to the local candidates (other than Victoria Prentis because she's foul)

I'm going to ask you nicely, ABR. Nobody wants your hateful rhetoric in this thread. We are aware that it was perpetrated by someone who has a Libyan background. We are aware that he is probably Muslim. We are aware that ISIS will claim responsibility for the attack. We are aware that his twisted idea of what Islam is will probably have caused his actions. However, we are also aware that not all Muslims are extremists, just like not all Trump supporters are cunts, or that not all Tories want disabled people to die. Because one person doesn't make all people the same.
Remember those who helped. Remember the police officers, ambulance drivers, volunteers who ran in to the building to save people who were injured. Remember the homeless man who cradled a dying woman so as she didn't spend her last moments alone. Remember the unfortunate victims. Don't give in to hate. That's what they want.

He was a British citizen, dude. Reduction in refugees would've made zero difference. The 7/7 bombers were British born too.
The IRA have killed many people in the UK. We don't hate the Irish.
I'm not saying that extremism doesn't need combatting. I'm saying that giving them publicity and giving them what they want is bad. There is a major education needed, but that's not just Islamic extremism. One of our sitting MPs was killed by a white right wing extremist last year.

I haven't said I hate Christians, Conservatives, Republicans, Brexiteers or You.
I hate people who use terrorist attacks to further their hateful rhetoric.
You came into this thread posting an inflammatory image. If I misconstrued your intention, then I apologise, but genuinely the way I saw it was a right-winger saying "LOOK AT HOW TERRIBLE ISIS ARE AND THEREFORE ALL MUSLIMS ARE"

Like, my dad is a Brexiteer, hardline. My mum is a staunch Conservative. I have issues with both of them, and I don't tend to engage with their rhetoric because I find them uninformed and it basically is "urgh foreigners" and "i always voted Tory so..."
Similarly, they don't understand my view point. That's fine. However, if they then advocated the rounding up of all Muslims in England - then, then I'd have an issue. I challenged my dad on his Tory vote when he was whinging simultaneously about NHS waiting times. He agreed he should reconsider.

Free speech is fine, but say hateful things, expect hateful responses.
I respect people like Katie Hopkins' right to say what they want. I also think I have the right to say she is a disgusting human being for the things she says.

Alright m8. You posted ISIS propaganda in a thread containing people who live in a country and indeed who live near the city where an atrocity has taken place, and have got super mad at us for telling you to do one.
I'm done with you now. Carry on trying to re-educate us.

To me, you're the hateful one. It's a matter of perspective.
Not the hateful rhetoric that IS want. The rhetoric that you perpetuate when you post their statements. They want publicity.
We are not afraid. We will never be afraid. Hate will not win.
Hateful rhetoric. That's me literally denouncing ISIS right there. Or did you just get so mad that I didn't like your reposting of actual ISIS propaganda to further your own agenda, whatever that is, that you failed to read?

So anyway, all the stories that are coming out of Manchester about people who helped is making my heart swell - a homeless man who ran to help young children has had thousands raised for him to help him.

She was asked whether or not she would walk away from a Brexit deal if she didn't get exactly what she wanted or if she had to pay too much to get what she wanted. She said yes, and that "No deal was better than a bad deal."
