you should read the tower of joy scene online somewhere as it didn't make the tv show and it's fucking awesome.

i'd probably suggest you read book 1 too, there are some differences in stuff that happens/the way characters are portrayed, although maybe it's not *strictly* neccessary, it goes into more detail on stuff than the tv show for obvious reasons.

also 5th book is out 12th of July!

Nothing in any way major at all. Some, but like, nothing major, I'm pretty much as anti spoiler as possible. If you're being really cautious don't read it, but it doesn't reveal anything plot wise. It didn't reveal anything to me I didn't already expect/know but be safe and avoid it I guess.

To summarise: the book is fucking good and the scope is massive. Buy it >_>

). I thought the actor pulled off the 'I want to punch you over and over again' thing well.

I found the Hound fairly poor in comparison to the book version - part of that was due to the fact they had Littlefinger tell his story which I was disappointed about. He seemed to get less screen time in general, compared to Book!Hound though.

Viserys was probably a far better character on screen - mostly due to the fact the actor NAILED it.

EDIT: you're not done with the book? oh yeah, there is at least one awesome scene they cut from the show you have to read!

Stannis/Mellisandre feel was meh for me.

Liked Pyke, though Theon/Yara(Asha) was funnier in the book. Balon was awesome though, great casting.

Like the first two seasons, it will be ten episodes long. This one will cover (roughly) the first half or thereabouts of A STORM OF SWORDS, the third novel in the series.

I liked that - sets up the last 2 episodes more than anything else.

Favourite scene was Davos/Stannis, I think? I just love the guy playing Stannis - he has him nailed.

Yara/Theon was quite nice too, looks like the Bastard of Bolton is coming. uh-oh.

Was expecting Jaime to tell brienne there were no men like him, only him - but maybe that line's been used already. Stillllllllll.

I don't remember this. The Red Viper uses poison but it's more the Reed's that use poison and are looked town upon for it. Also fairly sure Oberyn is proficent with the sword - just chose to use the spear against Gregor.

It's probably the Clegane's and Barristan anyway. And no, not the Knight of Flowers - can't imagine Jaime thinking he'd be a match for him.

Don't exactly remember when it was revealed, but I know it's true. And yes, I agree that poison may not be considered honourable but it doesn't massively detract from Oberyn's skill with weapons - he's quite infamous for a duel where his opponent died from one strike. I was more so I don't remember the Dornish being tied to poison; that's the Reed's that have that reputation.

One of the best parts of the entire episode was seeing Stannis fight. It's a side we haven't seen of him before and since this ep was written by GRRM, something we may get to see a bit more in the books. His troops having to drag him away at the end while he was yelling was an awesome touch.

Cersei was amazing, stole the show imo in an episode full of great performances. She was fucking brilliant.

I think they could have and should have built up the hound this season a bit more, I can imagine this as kinda coming out of nowhere for tv viewers.

Much better than last season's first episode. Felt decently paced and I'm glad they didn't jam in every storyline (dropped Arya, which is fine). Ending was nice - good to see Barristan again.

Have some problems with the opening (Sam just randomly being no where near the White Walkers is dumb?

Could have done without the Ros/Shae scene tbh. The Margaery stuff was quite good, though.

Not going to dwell on the changes. I thought Jon's speech in the show was also pretty good, redFF.

That really she has no obgliation to "love" the bastard as per the westeros society and how they're usually treated? I don't understand what it was supposed to achieve. I mean the whole "I wished death and it was wrong" thing is fine I just didn't really understand the purpose of the scene and how it helps catelyn's character or her get closer to Robb's wife...or yeah.
