Spoiler: Cat stuff
I can't tell whose side you're on in the love/hate Cat debate here, but I think arresting Tyrion was a fairly sensible decision: she was told the dagger was his, she wanted him arrested and that was probably the only chance she had. Taking him to the Eyrie was also sensible, esp. with the Winterfell mislead.
However, releasing the Kingslayer I feel was her first terrible decision; she knew how valuable he was, and there was no way that releasing him could help Robb's effort. That's where I start to lose sympathy for her.

Spoiler:
She was a mother who desperately wanted her children back...
Spoiler:
And if Rob won the war she'd get them back.

So I just watched it. I liked it! I agree with whoever that there weren't a whole lot of "fist pump" moment, but that's to be expected: the first episodes need to set up the later stuff.
Didn't notice they introduced Qyburn, didn't even catch his name. That'll be interesting; might he have been a plant?
I really like what they're doing with the Tyrells; it's a little blatant "LOOK HERE'S A GOOD QUEEN" but it's necessary as a contrast.
Missing Strong Belwas though.

I just watched it and spend forty minutes squealing with glee. I think it says a lot about the show that they can both take the scenes from the book and do them beautifully AND give us new scenes that we never could've gotten which are still just as good.
Dis a good season you guys.

My take: of course she knows Loras is not interested in Sansa's "womanly charms," but I think she knows that Sansa marrying Loras and living out her days at Highgarden, even sans sexytimes, are infinitely preferable to being trapped in King's Landing and being married off to some lesser lord as a reward or whatever the Lannisters have planned for her, or being married off to Littlefinger (ew). She knows that Sansa is a good girl who just fell into some deep shit and doesn't feel she should suffer for it.
Obviously the bedding would be awkward but hey, they'll figure something out. Find a nice bisexual lord to help both parties along maybe?

I'm confused, was theon originally being tortured by the ironborns, and then rescued by the acher dude, and then brought to the dread fort for the boltons? Like was he saved from the ironborns by the boltons so they could take him and torture him themselves?
Spoiler:
Theon was saved from the Boltons and taken to the Boltons.

Yes, but here's the thing: you don't know it all. So much is cut from the TV show that if you jump into book three you will spend the entire time going "wait who is this why are they important should I care that they just died the fuck is going on here."

First time in a long time the show has truly floored me. I expected Ros to have a FAR greater role, and quite honestly before they showed her dead I figured that LF finding out she tattled to Varys was just gonna be the reason she filled Dontos' slot (future spoiler)
and got a crossbow in the heart post-PW

All Book Spoilers:
I mean after Tyrion flees KL, Broon goes off and marries Lollys who we haven't really seen in-show yet, so probably Bronn's just going to play Ilyn and hang around with Jamie instead of fucking off and naming his kid Tyrion. Also potentially puts him in the picture when Brienne takes Jamie to Lady Stoneheart, which is neat.

Was Margaery involved in the murder in the books? I don't recall her being involved, I just recall it being LF/Olenna/Dontos, but you can pretty specifically see Margaery set Joffrey's goblet in front of Olenna in the show which means she was probably involved?
(ASOS+)
I don't know that it's been officially said outright in the book "Okay, this is whodunnit, and here's how," I think we've just inferred quite a lot from what Littlefinger and others said. I'd have to reread the scene in the book but I don't recall Margaery being stated as having touched the cup but not sure on that.

I would be surprised if
she had no idea, though. In the book and in the show even more she is portrayed as someone cunning. She is essentially a more savvy version of Cersei, someone who is able to work the system to get what she wants rather than someone who is vainly trying to break down that system.
Oh aye, she's definitely aware of exactly what's happening, I'm just saying that I don't know if she actually acted. But now I'm probably gonna go reread the scene.
