Nero's Neat Team (Nero Cain)

Wait, that's not the draft order. You used my L1 draft position for L3, but I was much higher up in L3.

God, I hope so. I made a series of bets with a friend.
I win $20 if Bell didn't play Week 1.
I win $20 if Bell doesn't play Week 8.
I win $20 if Bell doesn't play Week 10.
So I've already won $20. If he holds out, I'll win $60.
Separately, I bet Kamara will end with more fantasy points in PPR than Barkley.

They assumed that this would be a repeat of last year - that Bell would hold out until after Labor Day as a statement of protest and then report as normal. They made multiple public statements that this was what they thought was going on. Since he didn't, and went even further, they now look like idiots and feel betrayed. It's still messed up.
I fully support Bell in a holdout - the bosses need to pay him or trade him. But I wish he'd just nakedly stated he was going to hold out from the start. While keeping the potential length of your holdout intentionally murky can be a valuable bargaining chip, I don't think it served him well here.
A lot will depend on how Conner performs in the first two weeks, and looking at the match-ups Bell might be pushing his chips to the center of the table based on that. Cleveland doesn't have a pushover run defense, nor does KC.
Conner was good enough that I don't see Bell reporting before Week 10. He's not going to make significant ground in negotiations.

Kinda feel like its the other way around. If he's got nothing to gain by holding out he'll probably just report. Whereas if conner couldn't hack it he'd think eventually the steelers might cave. Idk just glad I was able to grab conner off waivers after having to miss the draft
He's maximizing value next year, not this year. He wants a long-term deal in Pittsburgh. Failing that, he wants to minimize his touches so he's fresh for his next team and can get more $$$.

Wraith, if we had a different setup, we all would have drafted differently and you'd have a different team. If you have a team that doesn't match the setup, it's because you made a mistake. You constructed the team knowing the setup.

You just named two elite RBs who can also run the ball. Sure, if you're a Gurley or a Bell or a Kamara, you can be extremely fantasy relevant as a pass-catching back who can also run the ball. But people like Riddick or Sproles are as good as non-pass-catching RB2s in terms of how they benefit their teams, and they don't get similar numbers in non-PPR.

Like think about it this way. If Kamara didn't run the ball at all last season and just had his 81 catches for 826 yards and five touchdowns, that is still a really solid year. That role would still be hugely important to the Saints. In non-PPR, he would have averaged only 6.6 points. In PPR, he would have averaged 11.4 points. I'd consider the latter number way more representative of how a receiving-only Kamara would benefit the Saints.

This season is bullshit. I'm starting to understand how Mith always feels.
Meanwhile, I'm kicking some ass in my money league ($150 buy-in, 12 teams - money to 1st place, 2nd place, and 1st place of the regular season). 140 points each week in PPR, and I managed to pick up Lindsay. So that's very nice.

I'm 5-1 now in my money league after Gostkowski cost me what looked like a clear win with absurd five field goals. Why can't the Patriots just go back to sucking?
I'll be 6-1 after this week, since I caught someone on their big BYE week and with Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman as their top two RBs from the draft. RIP him.
Sadly, that doesn't mean much for taking regular season champ. There are currently

Obviously, the Luke/Zoe draft picks should continue. They're adorable.
Speaking of cute things with mith's kids, I fully expect to see Luke on Jimmy Kimmel for his Halloween "My parents ate my candy" segment in a couple years. Make it happen, mith!
