Why wasn't magna chosen as the gladiator, if I'm town and he's seemingly tunneled on me?

They wanted you to come in and gladiate me instead

if mafia was magna/leon and they wanted to choose someone that would gladiate you, they could easily choose magna and he could gladiate you without any problems. he's tunnelled on you, so there's no way town would find it odd that he gladiated you. On the other hand, they have no guaruntee that I would gladiate you.

Regarding accountant the play is explained by him trying to coast by on towncred from nominating then lynching a partner. He doesn't want to say anything that is highly challengable.

I started off the day by going hard on a widely townread player who wasn't my gladiate opponent, then offered to lynch myself.

Looking for reasons to vote Magna instead, out of paranoia/nothing to lose by being careful. I couldn't find any.

Win or lose, I enjoyed playing this game and I think town played decently. If Magna is somehow scum, amazing job. If Hopkirk is scum, I admire him for being stubborn to the end.
