Check Ircher's ISO from the thread he linked in 272 (note: 2 pages, hundreds of roles). I found my role in there too.
Of all the possible roles, only one has a reverse tag post restriction and it's on scum. ISO 195

I spent a fair amount of time determining whether it was protown to state this outright, but if it pans out, we just nabbed a scum, possibly another, and we now know what dreal's wincon likely is.
I considered waiting for more random softclaims from people, maybe discern McMenno's role, but again, I think this is important to establish since we can nab at least one scum this way.

As for his case, it seems like a shot in the dark to me. There are other hypothetical ways to "defy" the standard rules. You could lynch mods, lynch town, lynch players not even in the game. Everyone could self-vote. I'm just brainstorming these though.
What's for certain is that the list of roles has something to do with the game. If we lynch a claimed role within that, their flip could reveal something. As for replacing "no lynch" with "town," I think I'd rather NL than lynch town. I'm not thinking about it too much because I'm on my phone.

As for Vax, I agree he looks like scum for questioning our push on Char.

The benefit of lynching outside of Char is that he likely has a partner (he's implied it, though he's not necessarily telling the truth). He would still have a factional kill even with. However, if we aim for other killing roles, we can possibly save a kill. Ultimately, I prefer lynching Char but everyone should understand the situation.

From my perspective, the NL wincon is entirely speculation. The wincon I have been told conflicts with that theory and I have stated that I will consider other options once we have a lead. We can't get a lead until we know whether Ircher has told us false alignments and wincons, i.e. telling Char that he is scum when he is town. That's why we should lynch claimed scum.
I know that you're not going to agree to that because we've tried that already, but I'm trying to explain my logic to you. I can't just take you for your word unless there's hard, objective evidence in favor of it.

And for what it's worth, I think your second and third points don't apply in the traditional sense and your first is entirely subjective.

And Vax's point about his role PM is interesting and explains some of his reasoning behind opposing the list. However, I will note that it's still possible he is Vax's partner. I'm still on my phone so I'm not certain what role Vax has that would confirm him town since he doesnt have a post restriction like Char.

Going forward, I want to see a flip on someone who's claimed, but obviously that won't happen during the night. As for D2, I'll still be shooting for the Char lynch, if not because he claimed scum, because we can possibly find out how the mod is lying to us. I expect to see me survive if I'm wrong cuz scum knows I'll be gunning for him.

As for me role-fishing dreal, I told him to use his role-confirming ability tonight so we can see whether the mod is at least using the roles he's given us. I also told this to McMenno. This also isn't role-fishing cuz it's displayed in his role PM (using the list) and can be used once a night every night. There's no reason why he shouldn't use it tonight. They've also both claimed diplomat so there's nothing for me to fish anymore besides what the mod will confirm to us.

I also don't have full faith in the list, which I have acknowledged multiple times.

Examples of what I'm hoping to see with Char's flip:
Does he flip aligned with the mafia and with the same role?
Does he flip aligned with the mafia but with some different role?
Does he flip aligned with some other faction but still have the same role?
Does he flip aligned with some other faction and with some other role?

By comparing how Char's flip plays out with whether you and McMenno (the claimed diplomats) can successfully "confirm" your role to others, we can get a gage on how much the mod is lying to us. For example:
If Char flips with the role we expect him to but neither diplomat can confirm their role, our roles are likely fake.
If Char flips with the role we expect him to and the diplomats can confirm their role, we should consider some amount of legitimacy of the roles or another mechanic.
If Char flips not with that role or not scum but the diplomats can successfully confirm themselves, perhaps the mod is hiding our actual roles, we act with those actual roles, and he gives us the illusion that our expected roles have some sort of value.

I'm just gonna vote claimed scum while you guys flail for a bit. In the previous Defiance game, Ircher lied about roles but he didn't lie about alignment.
I think we've confirmed that the list at least contains the roles Ircher has shown us. I don't understand how you can deny that this game is at least somewhst related to the list when we've already proven that our "apparent" roles are on there.
That being said, you've stated that you're not going to accept that line of reasoning. Here's a different one:

Char admitted that he has a scum role PM. Vax says it's unlike scum to claim like that, but from Char's perspective, we'd found a list that showed his role had to be a scum role. What else could he do? I absolutely think he paniced and tried to bargain with us to survive. If we put that together with the fact that Ircher lied about roles but not alignment, Char is scum.

@Char If it's true that the diplomats win if there's a no lynch today, it's in your interest to make a lynch happen even if it's on yourself. Your partner can carry your team the rest of the way.

I think we've shown that whatever role was given to us in the beginning is at least true for the time being. Vax's action played out, 1-shot's does, Char's post restriction is legit, and the two diplomats successfully prevented two players from voting today.

As a side note, I'm curious why they didnt silence 1-shot and me because we've been working the hardest against them.

@dreal Nothing so far has suggested that it is a red herring. As I see it, the evidence for both claims:
It is a red herring - Ircher said it would be extremely bastard. PP's role has changed.
It is not a red herring - Our actions, active and passive, have resolved as we would expect. The previous Defiance game involved role swapping but not alignment swapping.

I'd say the evidence is marginally in favor of the list having some significance, and I would encourage you to add or push back on that list if you see it fit. I just ask that you please not say I'm trying to work this out.

I do not believe I'm ability fishing. I'm going off your "known" role PM, so if there's any disparity between your actual PM and the one given on the list, you should share it because that could tell us/convince me that the list is unrelated or a red herring.

I'm reading through stuff again. Char was at L1/2, if he was a jester he should have just voted himself, but he didnt, so that doesnt make sense.

THen he claims scum. I dont get what the angle is there. I've never seen scum just go, "Yeah im scum" they usually fight it every step of the way until they are lynched. In a bastard setup I read that and just thought Jester.

I was also PMing Ircher about the "hypothetical" diplomats. I learned a few critical things, but he put it in the context of only being able to confirm it for a Grand Idea game, so like, take it fwiw.

Spoiler: I'm including the pertinent parts for reference

Uses the first win con that applies to the setup. Mods are instructed to provide all win cons in the role pm and to avoid telling the player which one applies. Aka, it's like a closed win con! You may want to include this notice in the role pm.

Win: You win with the Peacemaker. You must attempt to force all factions to avoid any kills/lynches (that succeed) for a total of 3 consecutive phases. This can be Night, Day, Night or Day, Night, Day.

Win: You win with the Self-Aligned Neutral Rebalancer! Please note that the Self-Aligned Neitral Rebalancer does not know this. You win when all factions (each Diplomat counts as a separate faction) are reduced to one player. You automatically lose if any faction is completely eliminated. The Self-Aligned Neutral Rebalancer and any third party factions are counted as separate factions (if multiple exist). The cult counts as a single faction. If you lose, you become a kingmaker in the game.

Win: All neutral survivors become a single faction. You are a part of that faction (as are any other diplomats). No neutral survivors will be informed of this changed win con, but you win if All of you survive to D3 and **you** or another diplomat survives to LyLo.

(If there are multiple Diplomats)
You, as are any other Diplomat, is allied with the town. You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

(If there is a single Diplomat)
You are effectively a neutral survivor. You win if you are the only player remaining. If the game ever reaches a "would-be" Happily Ever After outcome, you win instead.

1. These wincons are a prioritized list. "Uses the first win con" means that the first priority would be the "Peacemaker" wincon, then the "Rebalancer" wincon, followed by the neutral survivor group, town aligned, and single survivor wincons.
2. For the first two wincons (and I would assume the third but I did not confirm this) to be valid, their corresponding role must be in play. If we can agree that there is likely not a Peacemaker in this game, we do not need to worry about a no lynch today because the diplomats will not win if any sort of no-lynch (including lynching the mod) occurs. The same applies to the whether a Rebalancer is in the game.
3. It is possible that there are other neutral survivors in the game. PP, for example, could have had his role changed to become a survivor. Because that's possible,

it is imperative that scum shoot McMenno tonight now that he has lost his 1-shot ability

I don't get this. What do you mean "he can kill 2 people if lucky?" Who's "he" and how would they possibly kill two people?

The diplomat's PM says that if there is a neutral survivor, the diplomat wins when they win. It's entirely possible that one was placed in the game, so we need to kill ONE of the diplomats before D3 cuz if they both survive till D3 and they get to lylo, only the diplomats win. Technically we could win by getting rid of both diplomats before lylo, but considering that they're both 1-shot BP and 1-shot lynchproof, that seems unlikely to me. Therefore, it's in scum's interest to shoot McMenno so the diplomats can't win that way.

Either way, it's best that you not try to play games by shooting for a two-in-one but just take out McMenno for certain so they can't steal a win from either of us.
