Hmmm. Has this already been looked into or do I still need to do something?
Klaz should be right but I just need to do some looking into it beforehand.
I would most certainly appreciate it if someone changed that? ;o
Well, I can do so now if your MC handle is "chkflip" but otherwise T-Bone's right...MS Users aren't just automatically whitelisted. We'd appreciate you posting at least once asking for it to be done. No worries though. Let's see if I can do zis...

You're now whitelisted on the Modded Feed the Beast Server, but you'll need the launcher.
ISO Maruchan and look through his posts for the link, if somebody doesn't post another one or if it isn't in the OP.

Well there's FML, but then there's 34 other Mods you need as well, and they all need to be installed perfectly (with the right versions, etc.) so you really NEED to go through Maruchan's posts to find the Feed the Beast Launcher. I'll even do it for you if you're too lazy or something...
Step 2:
Choose MindCrack Pack (V6) Minecraft Version 1.4.6
Step 3: Click "Select Profile" and choose "Create Profile", type your login details and hit save.
Step 4: Hit Launch
Step 5: Wait while it downloads and installs the nitty gritty for you.
Step 6: Click "Multiplayer"
Step 7: Click "Add Server" in the box labeled IP Address, type:
94.23.155.227
Step 8: Click "Done", then "connect" and enjoy!
If you fail to connect, not whitelsited, request whitelisting.
And yeah, your chances of setting the mods up right without the FTB launcher are close to zero. (edit: and the mod count is actually more like 61 iirc)
I counted from the default list in the Mindcrack Modpack, which I happened to have open at the time...
lol chkflip ^ this is how it's done. I kid, I kid...whitelisted on the Modded Server just a second ago. Please look at the post I quoted above detailing how to access it, you cannot do so without the correct Modpack, MC Version, etc.

CHANGE WHERE IT SAYS V6 TO V7, WE ARE ON V7 NOW!!!!!!
herpderp Maru it auto-updates to the newest version.
Either way, I saw Lurker online just a few minutes ago. SUCCESS.

HAH No Klaz, you may not have a Nether Star for anything other than your Wand of the Thaumaturge. I believe I expressed this in the original post where I offered this deal...lemme guess davroe: both you and Klaz helped the other complete your Thaumonomicons... I realize I should've made it more of a competition. But aw well, lesson learned.
PM me screenshots of the 5 secret Discoveries and I'll give you the Wands the next time I'm online.

Hrmph. Do what Klaz said first, I'm still looking over it but should work exactly like he says. If not, the config file method dav recommended should indeed fix it - but only do that if the aura.dat deletion fails to fix or at least reset the problem.

Badly worded: basically, doing Klaz's first should be cleaner then doing dav's method, but if Klaz's method fucks up the Aura even more or makes it otherwise "unfixable", dav's method should be able to reset it.

...Maru...I would've really loved it if you didn't blow up the things I build, even if I do move away from them.
It should definitely be my choice whether to blow my old house to bits or not, and as it happened there were still items in there I wanted to keep.

There are only entities loaded for the Quarries briefly, while in the pipes between the Quarry block and the chests they hopefully deposit the items into. The chunks are what're probably causing problems. Please do not use the RailCraft "World Anchors" to load chunks - use the ChickenCore "Chunk Loaders" to do it. They're significantly expensive that it should keep the use down to necessary things, and they are better chunk loaders in every way.
Not to mention that they look cooler, don't require Ender Pearls to power them, and can be adjusted to load different sized chunk chunks. (My maximum is ~30 per Chunk Loader per person/group it benefits.)

I've seen all I need to see after about 10 seconds researching.
I am willing and able to provide every incentive to people on the Modded server provided they agree to change over to the new modpack - I will even grab our world seed and make sure Maru uses it to generate the new world, then tp people to where they have their builds now, if they like.
@Maru: since they're not on MafiaScum but still play more often than some of the Scummers do, you should get in contact with Blake and Byron (jointed98) to let them know about the switch.
I'm all for switching whenever, before or after EXBL 4.0.
Please let's figure out the Aura issue beforehand, make sure everything there is fixed. Also would recommend grabbing a copy of the whitelist - I can do that if you like.

The ChickenChunks Chunk Loaders are perfectly alright - the main reason I prefer them over the RailCraft World Anchors is because they are coded better and should reduce lag, as izak says, but they also:
- don't require Ender Pearls to "power" them
- have a much more costly crafting recipe, which should bring down their use
- have a clear chunk-loading size and limit for non-Op players
- look 10x cooler, with that little floating, spinning orb on top

@Maru: can we institute that old idea about a start-up pack, instead of just randomly spawning stuff in? Would this suggestion (if it included an Ultimate Solar Helm [which may be part of advanced Solars, IDK] and other stuff) be acceptable as an alternative to the hot-bar idea? Just testing waters here.

Oh, sorry - yes davroe, I did. It has been brought to my attention that Thaumcraft was updated and contains a bit more research now.....you'll all get what you already researched, but the new stuff you'll have to get on your own.

Hmmm...interesting...looking into Mystcraft now.
I'm seriously considering just going for the Modpack kit option, izak and I will talk about this. Maybe a QT is in order?
Also, Maru, spoil that gargantuan img up thar. Did you make that? I'm impressed.

I disagree entirely. In my opinion, we're playing what Minecraft could be in 20 years if Mojang started catering to some very obscure ideas. It's just that we have the opportunity to do this now because of the amazing Modding community built around and encouraged by this incredible gaming environment.
In post 10719, chkflip wrote:/: You guys aren't even playing the same game at this point.
It's just that Minecraft has so much potential. You are likely not yet disillusioned with the vanilla game, which is totally fine, but I've been playing for 2+ years. The mods add whole new content and sets of rules, and just when you've "completed" one, there are a hundred more to try. And then you go back to the vanilla version to enjoy its simplicity, and the cycle begins again.

I think he thinks I meant we should use a private Modpack. It would work, I think, but that's not what I was suggesting. Haha I only meant we should make a little kit of items from the new Mods, like we were planning on doing. I'll PM you about it as soon as I'm finished some other stuff. We'll work it out.

Most of the Mods in question have public disclaimers explicitly ALLOWING private modpack use, so I don't see how it could be that hard at all. Regardless - I'm not suggesting that. DW20 sounds perfectly perfect to me. NO GREGTECH <3

I'm PMing izak about the startup kit thingy now. We'll discuss it and get back to all with what hopefully will be something that can accomodate the needs of everyone; those who want a completely clean slate and those who would like to not be dirt (or Stone?) poor for the first few hours of their Direwolf20 experience.

Don't worry, spawn will be nice and prettiful once we get our new Modpack. Twilight Portal, Nether Portal, anything people want to help build as soon as we're up.
I'd like to have a little community there too, rather than just all scattering to the four winds...a Twilight-side to the community wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

...originally the idea was to quite from clogging the thread...goal not accomplished...
dav would like to keep the Ultimate Solar Helm, the Wand of the Thaumaturge, and a single Quarry.
